I like how Stromae gets into EVERY performance he does. He acts drunk in Formidable and stiff as a board in Papaoutai. Awesome!

Thadius Sales I think at this point it's just engrained in the song for him. I know a few artists who can't sing their songs without also playing their instruments. Studios hate them because they refuse to record the vocals separate from the guitar.

he also tends to do very feminine movements in tous les memes, which is awesome! it goes along with his half male/half female persona he adopts in that song

I get it! Me too, & so many of my friends don’t even know who he is.We live in NOLA, so folks are kinda sucked into NOLA music. Which isn’t bad, but,c'mon! Dude sings in French, most people here have @least a bit of French from their grandparents. Why he hasn’t blown up here is puzzling, he's African,Belgian, a citizen of the world.

The host really makes that calm atmosphere, it works very nice with how minimalistic Stromae and his team did the songs. A pity about the small misconception that Stromae "is not from Belgium", but they cleared it out in a friendly way :P He convinced Flanders to listen to his music, USA should be a piece of cake

I just only hope that people touched by Stromae (out of the showbiz industry today and Fashion designer entrepreneur now) will try to understand not only the lyrics of his songs, but also his own story through his songs as being borned in Rwanda in Africa at the time of the genocide. 🙂🌍

@@cocoluft That's interesting, in England when we say things like "ridiculously good" we just mean that someone/something is much better than we thought it could be, for example if we said "You're a ridiculously good singer" it would be a higher compliment than saying "you're a very good singer", I guess it's used in a similar way to "extremely" when referring to good or bad things, though we still retain the meaning of it when using it in sentences like "That's ridiculous"

Matt Howard there are many different styles and personalities, but some of the famous singers are: La Caita, La Negra (half arabic woman who sometimes sings famous arabic songs in flamenco-style), Lole Y manuel (also famous for a track featured in kill bill and La negra's children), Remedios Amaya, Camarón de la Isla, Josè Mercè, young talent I really love: Pilar Bogado, Arcangel, and not singers but dancers: Farruquito (part of flamencofamily los farrucos) and Eva la Yerbabuena are crazy good. =). Flamenco singing style is very distinct, not everybody loves it. I'm less familliar with guitarists, but Paco de Lucia is ofcourse the first to come to mind, Sabicas, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Manolo Sanlúcar. That should cover a good basis I guess, I hope you enjoy :).
