I also started listening to him relatively late... It always takes me a lot of time to appreciate the solo career of someone who's been in a huge band.

Never too late, you got a sea of great music ahead . Hüsker Dü, Sugar and of course Bob Mould's solo stuff and never forget Grant Hart :)
@davepowell3768 жыл бұрын
Husker Du was amazing. Bob's creative influence and musicianship matured with songs like Celebrated Summer, I Apologize, These Important Years, Visionary, etc. No disrespect to Grant Hart, but Bob was the better songwriter, in my opinion. If you ever get the chance, go see him play a solo acoustic show...incredible.

I have seen several KEXP performance on YT, and it seems that more noise = less views. Except for rare cases, the performances with more views are held by boring, lame ass ambient/shoegazing bands with high-class hipster students playing with lot of technique and no blood at all in their veins. Bad sign. Bob kicks the ass to all of them, and he's almost 60. 'Nuff said. Turn on the fuckin volume on and listen REAL rock music.

No to musical prejudice. If you don’t like shoegaze stuff then fine but don’t judge who love bands like MBV, Pale Saints, Lush & Ride but also love Bob and HD/Sugar. I’m looking forward to seeing Bob live for the first time in about 30 years over in Liverpool this coming Friday. Open your mind! Rock n roll was and still is very much all about freedom of choice and sticking it to ‘the man’. The man who tries to control your actions and your taste.

It’s not they. it’s Bob Mould and he chooses the other musicians. It’s not like the drummer will say hey Bob , you know I’m not feeling you being the singer in your band!! Bahahahahahaha
