It doesn't get better than this. A brilliantly simple clear delivery of so much information essential for any manager. Thanks Dalgit

Thanks for this. I'll admit, I have tended to look at mentral attributes last. And in general I would only focus on 2 or 3 attributes for a player that I felt were most important for the position/role I wanted him to play, and pretty much ignored the rest. This video made me realize I have to completely rethink how I evaluate players.

Tremendous video. I catch myself all the time falling into the trap of looking at the technical attributes first. i.e. Finishing for Attackers, First Touch and Technique and Passing for Midfielders etc. And then I look at the mental ones. I'm playing FM21 with Hamburg in the Bund. I simmed for a full year (during which they were promoted ) and then I started unemployed and they offered me the job to try and keep them up. I'm in 9th at the midseason break and now I'm going to see how much better I will manage them with this change in focus by me.

@@BusttheNet LOL. Slipped to 4th and 5th after Christmas. Then I tried to increase my coaching staff so that I had the same size staff as all the other EURO eligible German teams. The board said no. I said, PLEASE. The board said no. I said, I can't believe you all are so uninterested in being the best you can be. The board said no. I said, I don't know if I can continue working for you. The Board said , Well, Bye. Olimpique Marsielle said, hey, you can manage over here. So now its March and I'm in 4th place in Uber Eats Ligue 1.

Very good video. I remember back in the blogger days, we would talk about the Ajax TIPS model, Technique, Insight, Personality, and Speed. Two of those are distinctly mental attributes that describe how your player will play. If the player is aware enough, committed enough, and composed enough to do the right thing, all the technique and pace in the world is useless. My best striker in FM was a German International and Multiple Golden Boy winner last year. With 13 finishing. But he had fitness, composure, speed, and all the mentals you could dream of. So even if he missed 1 good chance every 3 games, he was making many other "better fonishers" would never create. To the tune of 30 goals a year and double digit assists in a system that wasn't dependant on him alone.

I miss those blogger days, but sadly I had to let the website go as it became too expensive to maintain,

This is a very good video! When I look at my players, I look at the primary mental attributes eg, positioning for defenders, and off the ball for attackers. I then look at acceleration and pace for my players no matter their position as I want to be quick in attack, and quick in defense to snuff out any over the top balls and out run their attacker. I also look at natural fitness, work rate and then the technicals for their role.

would you let them train a different role than the one they play in your system to increase their attributes at 12:20 ?

I would move him around different roles. Players usually peak around 28 so between 18-24 I normally pay attention to where the dispersion is and then make small adjustments like focus training or changing a role. The time period is usually 1-2 seasons.

@@BusttheNet thanks a Lot for the answer, i'll try to come up with some results in my save. Just to be clear, dispersion means the balancing of the attributes? For example: Passing and technique are 15 but vision is just 13 you'd focus on vision to increase the Overall strenght of his passes?
