Yes!! I feel like they kept saying that AH never mentioned his name and that wasn’t the point or purpose of the article, because of him, and then she BLATANTLY ADMITTED on the stand the other day that she indeed wrote it and that she wanted to take him down with it. I wish the lawyers had brought that up as a main point, I feel like it wasn’t really emphasized and it’s a key, the key, point.

She won't get done for perjury. They need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she she deliberately and intentionally lied to the court. You cannot prove from her statements that she wasn't confused and/or forgot things in this trial as it's been long and there've been so many last minute witnesses. It's very rare that people get done for perjury, any lawyer will tell you that. If her career recovers from this, it will take a long time to do so.

From all indications, monetary damages are not the real issue. So, Johnny Depp has already won the case, regardless of the verdict. Johnny told his story and the general public is overwhelming supportive of his side of the story, which translates into rehabilitating his image and going on with his life. By contrast, the vast part of the general public view Amber as a Monster and the Poster Child for Sociopath. That's the bottom line, regardless of the verdict by the jury.

One of many things that didn't work for me about Rotty's closing arguments: him claiming that Johnny Depp has never taken responsibility for anything in his life. Right after showing multiple texts in which he had apologized for his behavior (such as failing to stay sober). You can't have it both ways.
@spellywelly
@spellywelly 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I thought the same. It was plainly false and seemed an odd tactic to play. I can only think he was trying to counter Camille saying Amber hadn’t taken responsibility for anything - but that was marked and stood out a mile. Johnny hasn’t denied his jarring texts, his drug/alcohol issues… anything. Aside from the two ‘incoming’ texts, and the fact that he hadn’t denied anything aside from those makes me believe him!

In Camille's last cross examination, Amber literally said, "I know how many people will show up to support him... that's his power, THAT'S why I wrote the Op-ed, to speak on that phenomenon, because HE has so many people who will come out to lie for him" (not verbatim, but close enough) so sounds like she accidentally admitted that she did in fact write the op-ed about him specifically...

@@heathermurphy9359 I've been thinking about this yesterday. I think that because so much of their argument is based on "Amber is a liar", they didn't want to use her slipups on the stand to interfere with that fact. Either it's "she's done nothing but lie" or "she's lied about 99% of things but she admitted it so here you go" and I think it was a stronger argument for them to lean into the countless lies she told, rather than pointing to the one or two times she actually told the truth. It was effective when she contradicted Amber's statements with the recordings.

Rottenborn might have been “clever” in his closing statements, but the evidence AH brought in didn’t support her claims. Her witnesses also contradicted her stories. Her own sister couldn’t get the facts straight with the story about them on the staircase. I don’t expect anyone to submit a video of themselves going through DV. It’s ludicrous to think that a victim would stop whatever to hit a record button. But AH made claims about things that she could’ve had proof of. She said that in one incident, she walked on glass and her feet were cut up. Where are the photos of that? She also had medical professionals working closely with her. So it’s fair to question if she told them about all the assaults (to which none of them corroborated). For example, if she really was SA’d with a broken bottle, she would have trouble walking and she would’ve needed medical attention. Where are those reports? Instead she told a select few people years later conveniently the day before their scheduled deposition. Again, if these accusations were true, many would have trouble talking about it, so I’m not saying she needed to run to the first person and spill all her intimate secrets immediately after the incident. It’s just that she seems to only share about things when it would make her look like the victim or if it benefits herself. She claims JD pounded on her, yet her face was perfectly fine the next day. She also admitted to a “bruise kit,” which I think was actually a slip up where she explains the truth of her using make up to create the appearance of a bruise (we as humans are not designed to lie. It’s always so much easier to tell the truth. And in her confusion of trying to keep up with her lies, there are moments where it’s too overwhelming and she slips in the truth). She said it herself on the witness stand; she applies foundation, concealer and then the bruise kit “corrector” make up. If you’re tying to hide a bruise, these steps should actually be reversed! All in all, it’s about looking at the full picture and noting that there are just too many discrepancies for anyone to believe she’s being honest. Secondly, this is not a case about first amendment rights. Anyone can say whatever they want. BUT if their statement was made with reckless disregard for the truth, they should assume the appropriate responsibilities. This is what AH did. It wasn’t enough for her to quietly divorce JD. She chose to do whatever it took to drag him down in the worse way possible, using the “Me too” movement disgustingly inappropriately. Women aren’t always the victim, and men aren’t always the perpetrators. No matter what, AH is guilty in my mind.

@A Wanting the best for someone is not the same as doing whatever most pleases them. To give a simplistic example, a child may demand candy for supper, but giving it to them is not what's best. The child may well pout, cry, yell, or even lash out physically at not getting what they want, but a parent (who knows the child lacks knowledge and judgement about what's necessary for health), serves a balanced meal nonetheless. Pleasing the child in the moment is not what is best for them in the long term. Sometimes holding others accountable for their actions, even though they don't like it, is, ultimately for the best. That's how we learn, grow, and mature into responsible adults.

In my view, if I were to bring back the past, the most ideal court hearing is during the time of King Solomon of the bible. The accused and accuser defend their own selves. It would be easier for the Judge to decide who's the guilty one thru cross-examination, and other techniques based on observations, emotions, etc.

AH's lawyer stating the importance of the 1st Ammendment. Huh?? Such a weak argument. Freedom of speech is fine, but there is such a thing as slander. Johnny Depp is a public figure & his reputation is very important in his line of work. This is why they are here in this trial. To clear his name. You can't just spit out lies about an international figure like JD without accountability. Too many liars in the world. Time to make them stop like JD did. 👍

I’ve always loved Johnny and his film appearances. This case was very upset me, so I became an even more committed his fan. He is such a diverse individuality. He could play everything. Now I’m watching his movies that I haven’t seen before and wondering why I didn’t know these movies? He’s a fantastic actor and his loved all over the world. This is great!

I look at him differently now I was never a johnny depp fan I started looking at clips of the trial to make up my mind I admit I thought the worst but after seeing him in court I believe him I just do not get vibe that he is lying . Is he a Saint No. But he never said he was
