LaShawn doesn't listen to a word Samuel says unless it feeds into his impulses, and Samuel not only fails to put his foot down, but repeatedly has to flee from the scene because LaShawn overpowers every conversation. The next skit with this pair, the one in which they're told they have health insurance, shows that they end up going along with whatever insanity LaShawn comes up with (including the white-eyed orphan who can see the future), so it's not like they compromise "behind the scenes". That's neither balanced nor healthy.
