Devito held onto the ball way too long. He was taking 5-9 sacks every game in the NFL as well. The line wasn't great but it was 70% on Devito, not the other way around.

Tommy did hold onto the ball sometimes, but their offensive line was REALLY bad. In 30 years of watching college football, Syracuse's 2019-2020 offensive lines were in the top 5 worst that I've ever seen. They couldn't pass block or run block. Devito had a lot of success at Illinois. Clearly the quality of offensive line had a lot to do with that.
