CGF Tips 1. Call Your Budget Something Fun 2. Plan your budget the month before. 3. Don’t assume every months budget will be the same. 4. Base you budget on your project income for the next month. 5. Pay your expenses before you splurge. 6. Track your spending, a journal. My tip: When tempted to spend outside your budget, use these Mantras: MyGoal is to buy a (house)(car)(diamond tennis bracelet)(trip to Paris), 🛑 stop. I make &&& per hour, do I want to work () to buy this item. Example: make $20hr after taxes and expenses related to work, do I want to work 32 hrs of my life to buy this purse ($600+tax). Is this purse worth 32 hrs of my life?

I really like your financial advice. Calling it something fun is excellent. I have an emergency account. Sometimes I really need this. For example in November last year we had a fire in our kitchen. It still hasn't been put totally right by my home insurance company. I had to buy a new kettle and a new toaster. Sometimes my car needs repairs and this is another unexpected thing I need to be able to afford. I began paying into a personal pension last year as well. I save every single month money in a regular saving account. It is my new emergency money. I am not ever going to use credit cards again. I paid off my mortgage in June 2017.

Thank you for this!!! I always try and fail at budgeting bc I try soo hard to stick to it and get discouraged/blow it off whenever I surpass my spending or unexpected bills pop up. These tips and approaches are way more manageable and I'm excited to give it another go!

Good realistic sense of what she's saying. Sometimes things don't go as planned from month to month because it involves adjustments throughout the year as things will vary at times but if there's a commitment made with the right mindset you'll benefit later.
