The storyline also reminds me of Steinsgate which came out a year after this film! Scientists realise they are messing with time travel, there's a fat and thin one. They all think they look good in quirky white outfits, they start to remember alternate timelines as 'deja-vu'. They stole a bunch of information, they undo mistakes. A time machine incorporating a microwave, they hang out and talk on stairways, a girl just walks in and joins the team, they try to win the lottery and it doesn't go to plan...

It was so weird- Newer movies like Prom Pact, I only saw advertising for on Tiktok and it was mainly advertising that it was airing on Disney Plus. I watched it out of curiosity, and it had a similar plot to some early disney original romcoms, but they were so caked with newer slang that it felt out of place for a disney channel movie, but more than anything it seems like they are trying really hard to keep up with an online demographic. I definitely agree generally with your tier classification of Disney stars and how their odds of later success include weighing the cost of recognizability to revenue. I feel like if the Disney stars could sing (and Disney keeps track of/encourages their “triple threats” who can act/sing/and potentially dance) then Disney has the opportunity to exploit/profit off of an additional musical career + persona, so they’ll invest significant time and coverage into promoting them as a celebrity elevated beyond just Disney (the golden age era w Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, etc.), which, if they make it, gives them the leverage to transition out of their Disney image. They don’t really have this same format anymore, but I think Dove Cameron and Sabrina Carpenter, aside from being talented, are good examples of post-golden age celebrities who carved out a separate Disney identity through Disney promotion and music designed to get them out of the niche.

"Would you want to relive your senior year of high school?" My senior year was the 2019-2020 year, soooo... I guess I would know that I didn't have to study as hard because everyone got a free pass that year. I would also try my best to get everyone's contact (I was really bad at getting people's contacts and had absolutely no way to reach out to most of my friends unless their instagram usernames were their actual names). I would invest hugely in the month of April or May (although I only had like $2,000 at that time, so maybe I should try really hard to convince my parents to invest). And lastly, I would say something else when the school newspaper interviewed me about Covid in early March and I claimed that "it wouldn't be a big deal". For fun, I would also make a bunch of theory videos for popular franchises knowing full well exactly what happens and gain millions of subscribers for my accurate theories only to lose them all once I catch up to the present day and fail to predict anything.

Actually Derek/Zeke was also in Princess Protection Program and ALSO in Sky High which is probably his most noteable role. But neverMINNND that- Do you know how JARRING it is to be doing a binge watch of The Vampire Diaries and see JEREMEY FLADOOPING GILBERT APPEAR ON MY SCREEN????

That’s where I recognize him from. It’s been driving me crazy this entire video.

I just wanna say that I appreciate you adding production value with things like that split-screen effect. It’s a common editing trick, in a way, but it’s still quite a bit more work than a basic shot, and especially in natural light with shadows it could _easily_ get messed up. And what sold it here was the fact that you panned the camera right after, kinda surprised me even. Added more flair and creativity to the project, definitely. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that you meticulously visit all these locations like a freaking autistic champ (I mean that in the best way possible, I’m autistic, and I always appreciate people’s genuine interest in obscure topics). I like the way you incorporated some of the short outside shots, with the music and all. Your videos are definitely improving, it’s so awesome to see people grow their craft and their reach. And I know how much it can mean to know that the small details don’t go unnoticed. I’ve never seen this movie and I didn’t grow up with Disney Channel cause I’m not American, but you make it interesting and give me that sweet second-hand nostalgia. Cheers dude!

Everytime Keyan cuts to any area that was used for filming with the good old Ghost House theme is a treat

Grew up watching this movie with my sister but none of my friends remember it at all. Thanks for bringing the memories back

I like how when Keyan goes back in time he has to tell his past self to review the movie he was decidedly against reviewing despite already inexplicably being in Salt Lake City in a snowsuit

Steven R McQueen and Chelsea Staub/Kane from this movie ends up on the CW. Steven is famously known as Jeremy Gilbert in Vampire Diaries and Chelsea had a minor role on One Tree Hill as a rival cafe manager

I am convinced that Keyan himself is a “minuteman” who already had the snow suit, and went back in time to invent Transformers using the associative property.
