Keyboard Mylar are one of the most common e-waste items you can find that contains Silver.
Check out my recommended safety products, Furnaces & stuff on amazon.. www.amazon.com...
Whilst there isn't a great deal of value in just one keyboard, being so easily found, over time keyboard mylar does build up and is worth processing for the Silver.

Perhaps making a simple punch with 1/4" copper tubing or similar to punch out the carbon. For example... file the inner and outer edges of the tubing, place it over the carbon, smack with a mallet, and boom... clean mylar sheets no carbon.

knowledgeable... Definitely Knowledgeable. And yet yours is the most, Broken mind. You'll ever find. I watched a video of yours. AND YOU SAID. I don't got after such small amounts of gold. It is a waste of time. Then I see you... Goofing off with mylars. There is no difference between CHEAP SILVER. And expensive gold. Meaning the amounts. Why chase such tiny amounts of silver. But not chase gold ? P.S. ENJOY THE SHOW !

If and or when silver gets to $100.00 per oz. U.S. . I'm going to be glad that I started to put the mylar in filing cabinet drawer that wasn't being used. Thanks for the GREAT info on the differences with the different types and better grades of mylar.

Hi Ben..if you have not started the refining processes yet and are at loss which is the best method. I can steer you to information of the who and where's to purchase the materials and or machines to extract 999.9 fine every time(one stop shopping)the company specializes in the products for diy recycling. thier prices can fit anyone's pocketbooks,.they give super instruction as to how to obtain that 999.9 fine. Thanks for the video,.i have been ignorantly tossing the mylar sheets,.but now I realize what i have been tossing.. thanks to you what their worth is. P.s how was the winter in Australia this year.

bantalee2002 Thanks bantalee, yes i'd be interested to check out the company you mentioned. I'm still accumulating mylars, so will be handy for when i';m ready to process. Winter in Melbourne has be ok, a little wet at times but can't complain.

some people sell them on ebay in lots, because silver is a bit low at the moment not as many are chasing them. keyboard mylars is usually what they are called, probably best to just stack 'em up until you have a large pile or silver goes back u, that's when people will be looking for them

Ben, do you do any recovery and refining
@eWasteBen
@eWasteBen 9 жыл бұрын
+Pete Curtice Not yet Pete, I'm building up stock to make it worthwhile setting up a proper system, I don't want to do it with basic equipment and have a lot to learn before I start, so i'm at least a year away before I refine for the precious metals. But that suits me because there's no difference really, the gold, silver etc is still in my hands.

I have been told that there is also silver in the plastic sheeting under the buttons on a microwave. My question is this -- I can't really see the color on your mylars very well, but the ones I have found are kind of a gunmetal color. Is that what I am looking for, or is it something else?
@eWasteBen
@eWasteBen 9 жыл бұрын
Dwight Gordon Nope, that's what you want, the gun metal color is silver, all mylars will have silver, perhaps the darker grey ones are slightly heavier in silver. Yes all keyboard mylars so from telephones, the microwave button mylar, printers with touch button controls will also have a little mylar usually.
