I know this is a joke, but in summary, the good standard you should go for are full milky, full foam/sorbothane and tape mod. Lubing (filming) switches and stabs is a must.

It's quite BS because when I upgraded from stock stabs from KBD and Ikki to Durock V2, I thought I won't need to mod my stabs anymore. A few days after installing it into my soldered TKL it starts ticking. I'm like yo I paid a higher premium not for it to tick wtf?

People are even putting poly fill, tape, and PE foam on expensive keyboards that don't require modding. It makes finding sound test for new boards annoying. Imagine spend $800 on a keyboard and then modding it to make it sound like a modded budget board. Here is my keycult no2 65 with silicon pour and I added a layer of poptar wrappers between the switches and the PCB for that extra POPPY sound :). You want to know the real secret to thocc? SA, ASA, MT3 KEYCAPS can do more than all these mods combined. You're welcome.

Something you might find interesting: aluminum and steel both have similar dampening properties, however cast iron is roughly 10 times more dampening than steel. better yet composite referred to as expoxy granite is known to have significant damping properties over cast iron. People take granite and epoxy and calculate out the sizes of granite pieces to get the most packing efficiency to make ultra dampened cnc machine frames. Plz fill some keys and a keyboard with this shit, and see what it does.

I know this is all supposed to be sarcastic af, but in my opinion switch pads are great in situations where plate or case foam is not an option. There's literally no space in my main kb for case foam and I couldn't bother with plate foam, but a before/after comparison of switch pads was a massive difference and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Maybe it's 'cause I've never modded high-end PCB-mount stabs, but I've gone as far as to have combined the Holee and Epsi mods in the same set of stabs because literally nothing else will permanently stop rattle in plate-mounts. I just can't see how lubing stabs "properly" is a matter of skill because lube WILL eventually displace and start rattling. As far as I can tell from doing the Holee-Epsi combo with some basic lubing on my plate mounts, they don't feel mushy and they're basically immune to rattle for good. I dunno about everyone else here, but I'd rather have that peace of mind over what, as far as I can tell, is a LIE that lube by itself is capable of stopping all rattle long-term.
