I am actually 'out' currently into this hobby since I built my Monsgeek M1 back in 2023. But I always watched your videos because you create great sounding keyboards with a scientific twist. Sometimes you create not just a review but also an analysis on a keyboard. What a passionate man.

tbf theyve got a full size, a 60%, and a 80%, steel series makes a traditional tkl layout with HE switches for the main board and mech switches for num function and arrows albeit i had a bunch of issues with it over time, couldnt be happier after switching to wooting, they just work more consistently than the competition that keeps copying what they innovated which is fair i guess to an extent even though HE boards arent really all that new anymore

@f3nnekoАй бұрын
I think that while this board is a big step in the right direction for wooting and HE boards in general, things like the plastic case using plastic clips to hold the case together (plastic clips almost always will break and snap with enough wear), and the plate foam being a requirement and not a preference choice because it houses the gasket system still feels "anti-custom" compared to custom keyboards of today. But I have a lot of hope for future wooting boards because they are very receptive to feedback, and it is very awesome to see!
@JakubixIsHereАй бұрын
It cant have soft gaskets because actuation point wouldnt be correct all time
@ShyvorixАй бұрын
@JakubixIsHere Yea thats the 1 biggest risk with HE. You kind of *have* to sacrifice some flex for pinpoint .1 and especially .01mm accuracy.
@f3nnekoАй бұрын
@@JakubixIsHere but it’s not gasket mounting that causes a problem for the accuracy of the hall effect, it’s the plate. the qk65v2 classic with the he pcb can do great with no plate foam with gasket mounting, that’s what the aluminum plate with stand offs on that board is for, to assure constant distance. wooting can do this same thing in the future to welcome different options for sound profiles that doesn’t require plate foam
@clarkettinger6958Ай бұрын
@@JakubixIsHere no?
@JakubixIsHereАй бұрын
@@f3nneko ok i was wrong. Any types of flex does that. It is little bit flexable. You know if you have flex, readings of he sensors are all over the place and they are never the same. So if you want accurate actuation point that best option for them. They even tried flex pcb

@NaoKeysVTАй бұрын
Whoa, you got the keyboard sounding really good. It still has a bit of that sound that HE switches just... have, but its wayy better than most of what I've heard before. Hoping Wooting updates their 60% cause tray mount feels pretty dated at this point.
@ShyvorixАй бұрын
I kinda wonder where in the switch is the culprit. Maybe just the lack of a leaf spring makes it more naturally loose. Only problem is HE requires high precision and so any kind of friction is a net negative so....have to somehow tighten the tolerances more and more without adding resistance. We know how nice linears sound normally....it shouldn't be impossible...

So i may get geon raws for it, but other than that i genuinely feel like the only other keyboard stuff i may buy is keycaps for when i really want to change the aesthetics of it, but seriously liking my black pcr case and keychron dolch pink cherry profile caps combo so even that might will only probably be later down the line.

I just got a Yunzii RT75, which didn't make your roundup video, but it was cheap & has a knob: I am fundamentally lost on how to adjust the software for games, but I am mostly ok with the feel of the switches (Outemu pink). There keys are very smooth and silent when soft pressing, but there is a harsh ping when typing normally & bottom out the key stroak ... I have two sets of keycaps coming tomorrow & I also have the dumb idea of trying stem o-rings, but I am open to better suggestions. P.S. the case is plastic and has no gasket.

I still think that, when factoring in price vs sound, typing performance and the (debatable) benefit of HE, it still has yet to become something worth the average gamers money. The plastic board is way overpriced IMO, and the overall sound of HE still is lackluster to me. I also don't think that rapid trigger is even a real benefit for 99% of gamers, and to those who could benefit from it its still not a huge deal. It's also becoming considered cheating, as it is banned in at least CS2 and will be in Deadlock, not to mention the amount of OW2 players yearning for a rapid trigger ban. It just doesn't live up to the hype that seems to be all over the hobby right now.
