I bought the 80HE founders edition in white zinc but I haven't had it delivered yet, I watched a few videos like Hipyos and got a bit worried I'd scratch it, they have sent out messages to all of us who bought it saying we can wait for a v2 but I just haven't decided yet. I'll probably just have them send it after the holidays and live with it or sell it, I'm sure I could make my money back regardless.

@@christianl3592If you select the board and not the pre built one you can do white. But you have to build it yourself.

Great video Wasabi - I two things you pointed out, I also agree with strongly - are often overlooked/not mentioned - the switch püller indeed breaks to early (or its a skill issue - well it most likely was) AND Sander makes great videos :D

V5 is actually compatible with all our devices we ever sold all the way back to the Wooting One and Two with optical switches (so a good 7 or 8 years ago). They may not be able to use all features or have some tolerance limitations with rapid trigger but generally we do want to keep updating all our keyboards for as long as possible if theres no technical limitation preventing us from doing so.

The switches are compatible with Cherry MX profile keycaps too. You can turn turn around the switches!

I do find it hilarious people have an issue with the 80HE when I viewed the 60HE as a way overpriced board with even at the time lack luster build and features for the price. The 60HE was genuinely a massively overpriced and overhyped board but the 80HE has a ton of updates and upgrades for $10 more for a tkl vs a 60. I was pretty harsh on the 60HE because it was being simped like crazy by youtubers etc for a overpriced 60 board that was really nothing special even for the time but everyone was losing their mind to defend it, now when a keyboard they make that is genuinely not awfully priced for what you get in the market they have all these issues with it? lmao. I do think the Apex Pro TKL gen 3 might still be a better option though. SS software used to be even better than wootility tbh but it has gone down hill over the last year or so with the addition to BS that no one wants like Sonar and Moments into the software and bugs that they never had before. You also get magnetic wrist rest, better features, screen (which is w/e but is useful), volume control, media button, metal faceplate. It does cost more (like $20) but you do get a bit more that matters especially if you use a wrist rest and better controls like the volume wheel and media button.

Reasons not to buy this keyboard: 1. It's far too expensive. 2. The layout is oddly designed. 3. The included feet are terrible. They look like mismatched training wheels on a kid's bike.

the preorders were months ago, even in north america they have just started collecting finalized shipping info so people in the us that preordered will have theirs soon, wouldn't be surprised if reviewers got review copies early
