I'm starting to see some designers also use flex/relief cuts in the spacebar in an attempt to make the spacebar a little less "thuddy"... the cushion plate it does tamp down the heavy sound impact vs the alphas. Very interesting, hopefully we see this as a option in the upcoming Neo Cu 65 & 60 too!

a really easy way to mitigate it is not put a mounting point under the spacebar

Right? Butter is a very nice switch overall! Kind of expensive but great sound

Aesthetics aside, I really don't get why they put in the screen and shifted the cluster up one row. In my opinion this goes against the number one reason for a full-sized keyboard: muscle memory and retaining that for when you have to work with 'regular' keyboards in between. It is not that bad, but then you could also just go 98%. I just wanted a full-size keyboard that has all those premium custom features and that isn't a keychron or some super obscure group buy....

Yeah that’s a massive design blunder, it’s ruined the whole purpose of full-sized being accessible and convenient

Just getting into custom mechanical keyboards as a hobby and I only want to get full sized boards! This is great news! I just purchased Redragon's K580 Pro as an upgrade from my 7 year old Cooler Master Membrane Keyboard and OMG is it such a difference. Can't wait to try and mod this thing to make it sound deep and feel great... what a fun hobby!

I really love the clackinest of the HMX Butter and I was surprised by the sound of the QK101 especially the FR4 foam-cushioned plate w/ the foams.

Ive been waiting for something like this. I was debating getting a 80 with a qk or zoom pad thing. Otherwise great keyboard. I wish more keyboards alsosupported southpaw, it would be interesting to see something like a dr70f but full size, where you could switch the sides of a full size without buying a seperate pad.

I prefer the softer, "new age" build although I would be using this 'in the office' and fear my coworkers may find even that option too loud. I guess I could use Silicone Switch Dampening O-Rings to help 'muffle' it (throwback to 5 years ago) and maybe an extra layer of Neoprene Rubber Sheet? What makes me nervous about building it myself are the stabilizers. Maybe go with the new Swagkeys Knight Stabilizer V3s?

i use the nav cluster a lot. they should have just put the screen on the top row. screen is useless in a keyboard anyway

If this keyboard had come out 2years ago I'd have absolutely jumped on it with the force of an meteorite... as it is I've gotten used to 75% layout and tho I miss my numpad the deskspace I get in exchange more than makes up for it. I'm still rocking the original release Qk75 as my daily driver and it's been an amazing keyboard.

QK is my go to brand but I just don't have the room for a full size anymore... this looks like a fantastic board though. Still loving my Neo75cu, probably the best typing board I have used in quite a while. The Neo80 and QK75n were great but I think the Neo75cu is oh so slightly better! Board looks amazing with the latte! I'm loving Drop DCX as well... of course GMK has been the go to for a while but I have DCX on almost as many boards now, especially for more basic color designs. Perhaps it's my imagination but I think they are ever so slightly deeper then GMK. The board sounds amazing with those switches!!!

Should have gone with a classic 104 key, without the screens and bling. A standard, classic 100% keyboard from Qwertykeys would have been perfect. This QK101 is a hard pass.

@@makmakg242You're better off saving for a Neo65 instead, unless you're okay with a foam board. The Lucky65v2's case literally resonates by just rubbing its side, making any sort of foamless build sound bad.
