Are the keys that have the "command" symbol on them windows keys when plugged into windows? And is the option key alt when plugged into windows?

Carlos Zurita This keyboard comes with windows keycaps that you replace the Mac keycaps with. Yes it has the same function on windows.

@@RealDrumPyles Oh I see, sorry I didn't understand your question. The 'Windows' key replaces the Mac 'Option' key meaning on the bottom row, the 'Windows' key is two keys in from the left and two from the space bar. This is this layout you will find on almost all Windows keyboards. Both Windows 'Alt' keys replace the two Mac 'Command' keys located either side of the space bar. So no, there aren't two 'Windows' keys, the 'Command' keys aren't 'Windows' keys, and the 'Option' key isn't an 'Alt' key. Instead, this keyboard follows the normal Windows keyboard layout. If you would like to rewire the keyboard to an irregular layout, I'm sure this is possible. Just bought this keyboard thanks to your review! And I must say, I'm happy with my K2 so far! I also got the Gateron Red switches since I'm a light typer. Still getting used to it since I tend to get typos, I'm mostly doing design and general typing so I'm good. Typing experience is smoooooth and the sound is just remarkable. Got an ASMR product haha.

@@TheSomeawesome I managed to but with some caveats. I'm not exactly using a wrist rest but I do rest my wrist on my graphic tablet near the K2. Anything to elevate your wrist/arms really then you're good. Won't notice the height by then.

From what a friend has told me the k2 is a thicc girl. So I'll prob be grabbing a thick wrist rest for the K4. Hopefully the lack of dedicated media keys won't be too much of a issue.

@@taha112498 I dont have the Akko. As far as media keys for the K4 Ive gotten used to using Fn key for all of them. My previous keyboard had a dedicated volume button on the side.

I know it's not the best mech out there but as a new enthusiast I wanted something that hit these criteria: - price (sub-$100 is enticing) - wireless - backlight (not necessarily RGB) - pretty good switches - Mac support built-in Most of the market is catered towards Windows and there really isn't much out there that has Mac support baked in. I'm super happy with this K2 with all its features and I'm already looking into components to eventually build my first mech. Cheers!

I got the plastic version of this via kickstarter with gateron reds and it's too loud for my taste.. Glad to see someone open it up. I'll try to install some foam or something to see if it helps.

It was so close, I just needed it to be hot swappable. 75% keyboards are my absolute favorite and the fact that this is wireless is awesome but I just want to swap the switches. Guess I'll keep waiting. Hopefully they make a k3. If anyone from Keychron does read this, add hot swap switches and put the ports on the back please. You guys almost have the perfect keyboard.

I’ve been looking for a mechanical wireless keyboard closer ergonomically to a full size without the numpad and this seems to be the best if not one of the best. What are your guys’ alternatives for this? I’d love to hear. I’m buying for my MacBook at home..also, since it’s a unique layout, i don’t imagine you could use something like hyperx keycaps on it(actually I think they’re cherrymx switches).. would love to see alternate keycaps for cooler LED visibility and finger feel too.. THANKS

Nice review. I already have this keyboard and agree about the height, but i think it's overall really nice. I wanted to change the keycaps but I'm struggling to find keycaps that have the functions highlighted above the function indicators ... (like brightness being above f1 & f2 for example) ... any ideas for solid replacements with the function animations?

I use one of these wired with a MacBook Pro Touchbar 2019 with Catalina and I notice that I have to reinsert the cable after reboot if I want to use the keyboard to logon. Also I have two of these as I use one for work as well. What would you say is a better design/experience in this price range?

I've had mine for months (Aluminum/RGB). You'd really never know the whole chassis wasn't alu without pulling it apart. For anybody who's wondering if they should buy one or not, it's definitely worth it. There's a bit of stabilizer rattle, but nothing like some of the products on the market.

@@zefrogi It's just fine for me, took a little getting used to. I have a compact Glorious wrist wrest for long sessions.

@@Jericho1_ It has quirks, but it's good. If you're going to use it in wireless mode there's the slightest bit of latency, but not enough to bother me (even in competitive games). Once in a while it'll stutter, but only when the battery is low (you'll let off the A key and keep moving left for a half second). Easy solution is play games with full battery, or just plug it in when you want to play competitive.

I think this K2 is really useful for mac users who need to be portable, but like you said, not a big fan of the bottom case design. Is it possible to replace the case with something better without a big hassle (i.e. soldering or smth)? And if so what would you recommend the as the case?

I wonder how much fitting some foam pads into those empty spaces might affect the sound and typing experience.. also wondering about stripping the paint off the aluminium pieces and polishing for a stainless steel case look 🤔

yep, I always kept it as white. it's RGB white, so a mixture of all the colours. So it's not as bright, or as pure as what a white LED would be.

I just saw the new K6 preview video they released. It looks like they made some changes to the angle of the chassis on the new design. Would love to see your impressions of the increased angle they appear to be using on the new K6 model coming out, and if they incorporated any of the changes into the recently released K4. I also noticed the K6 is sporting 2-stage folding rubber feet on the bottom, not sure what else they may have snuck in.

I like the layout, and I hate the height. Do you have any recommendations on other 75% keyboards and Mac compatible like this but less tall?

I saw there was a large piece of foam in the box when you opened it though, you possibly could've used that foam to stick inside the keyboard. Just cut out a shape so it won't interfere with the battery. Edit: bought my lil’ bro a K2 v2 with the alu frame for Christmas (side note, the v2 has proper angling compared to the 0-degree angle of the OG K2), cut the foam piece for the case. It’s definitely not a sound-absorbing foam, but filling up the bottom case always help with hollowness.

Seems like akko 3084 is very similar, but type-c port location is better and also the shape of the case is better, but it's plastic. Would be interesting to see your review on that one, even though you've already reviewed 3068

I must say. I am finding the plastic w/ white backlight version a great value (I actually don't use the lighting, it would just encourage me to look at the keyboard. I agree with much of Tae's assessment except for the backspace key. My backspace doesn't have a ping, although I am on Browns and I took the foam that came with the packaging and cut it to fit and placed it inside the case. I do wish the switches were readily accessible as I would like to lube and spring swap. I find the lightness of the keys has increased my error rate quite a bit over the standard Macbook or Thinkpad keyboards. I also use an adjustable height desk so I do not wrest my wrists; however, I certainly would not complain if the case was thinner in the front.

I just picked up a k10 and it's a nice pre built keyboard. my only gripe with it are the stock keycaps. they have this strange soft rubbery finish that i don't like very much personally. Will be replacing these with a set of harder double shot PBTs and after that i think it will feel great.

There’s a new board coming from them, the K4. It’s a 96 layout, and they are offering Gateron Yellows. I went for the optical on my order initially, but I’m thinking about trying out the yellows instead.

Just received my Keychron K2 here. Quite happy with it but I will need some time getting used to it, as I'm switching from the low-profile, scissor-switch Logitech K810 keyboard here. And yes, the height is definitely quite high. Might pick up a 75% keyboard wrist rest for it eventually; not hot on their walnut wrist rest as the look doesn't really fit into the look of my setup.

got mine today too. my K2 is not as high as the version in this video. it is angled like the K6. the kick stand now comes with 2 different angles too instead of 1. I bought the PBT keycap version. The keycap is horrendous. It also doesn't have torx screws at the side like shown in this video.
