Opening arguments begin in Kaitlin Armstrong trial

Opening arguments for Kaitlin Armstrong’s trial are beginning Wednesday morning. Presenting the state’s side were Guillermo Gonzalez, Ricky Jones, and Jean Sullivan. Armstrong is being represented by Geoffrey Puryear, Rick Cofer, and Elizabeth Duggan. On Monday, a 12-person jury was selected.

Can’t watch this. Prosecutor continues to object and showboat. They can’t resolve the sound issue but he’s sure aware that cameras are in the room and is auditioning for his next role. Why doesn’t the judge shut that clown down? Do a side bar and tell them to stop arguing. What a circus. They need Judge Newman from SC or judge from Adelson trial.

This chick is as GUILTY as two left feet! Tried to escape TWICE, cut and dyed her hair, used her sister's and other fake passports, etc! That is NOT what an Innocent person would do! I hope she gets the maximum sentence which is basically life! After all that she did, she should never see the outside again unless it's the prison yard! She has skated long enough! And those who helped to hide her should serve some time also! It's unacceptable how she was able to escape like that! 👎

The prosecutor and judge are already behaving strangely and probably inappropriately, so it's especially concerning we're not going to be able to see the rest of the trial. the prosecutor's behavior indicates to me a lack of confidence in their proof. not saying she's not guilty, I'm just troubled by what we've been allowed to see. get it together, Austin.

💯!! How can the judge so calmly sustain the belligerent objections from the prosecutor in this case? This needs to be televised and it’s extremely concerning.

I'm not sure it indicates a lack of confidence in their proof from the prosecution, to me it indicates intimidation and lack of professionalism. I'm not an attorney so this isn't my area but the belligerent, nonstop interruptions is really hard to watch and I think is actually helping Kaitlin's defense not hurting it.

the prosecutor is right. Much of what the defending attorney is saying is not an "opening" statement. He's making an argument. He really doesn't know what he is doing and is not going to help his client with is lack of understand or trying to get maybe, a mistrial.

This will not end up well for the prosecution. There is to much inconsistency with the evidence against the defense. It will probably endup being a mistrial. They are not going to win this one! Kaitlin is without a doubt guilty of killing Mo. But the state is producing a bad evidence to prove it! RIP Mo and Condolences to her family and friends. 😓🙏👍💯

@@kawikajones9436 This really surprised me. There had been so much released in the press and on discussion sections of articles and reddit, and none of them mentioned the phone evidence. This seems very open/shut to me. Kaitlin will be found guilty in my opinion.
