This one was also 25$ vs $40, and you get two usable decks instead of two crap decks...so for an extra 5$ you get all the tokens, mats, keys, etc...FF really did a great job this time around 👍

The new starter set is way better than the original. This is a great time to get into keyforge. Also, there is a third party online platform that is going strong while we wait for an official digital port.

I agree with "The Counterfeit Mortician" being a great deck name!

This starter is SO much better than the first one. I HAD to pick it up despite having the first. I always wondered why FFG did cards instead of tokens in the first one for the conditions and buffs.
@mrdrock5 жыл бұрын
I am excited to go pick this up just to replace the +1 power and stun tokens. The cards, even the mini cards, were never a great solution.

So if I've never played KeyForge, is this the one to start with?
@AJ-nc4vr5 жыл бұрын
I don't think it really matters. This will likely be more available, so go for it :)

Probably bc you get the tokens and you do need them.

I hope they make the digital version of the game. I can't experience the "sealed" gameplay as I need to translate the cards.

First like! I might try KeyForge... wanted to get it when it first came out, but couldn't find the starter set in stock anywhere!
@Noveltyuk5 жыл бұрын
I'd definitely recommend it. It's a great game, easy to learn, hard to master and can be as cheap or expensive as you want.

I never played it, if i wanted to try is it better to start with red starter set or this one? I know this doesnt have 2 fixed decks (which i dont need) but what about mechanics and deck strength? Is this harder? More polished? If there are new keywords/rules here does it mean decks are harder to play and/or stronger?
@facepalm9915 жыл бұрын
The expansion takes cards from the original set and adds a ton other totally new as well. There are some new mechanics but none of them are hard to understand. Strength wise Keyforge decks vary a lot by their nature anyway. There is no point whatsoever to ever buy the original starter pack anymore as it has 2 modified starter decks which no one ever uses (even though they are decent) and no tokens. This one is cheaper and gives you 2 random decks + tokens. If you ever want to buy original stuff you can just buy used decks online for less than 100 $/€ for sure.
@nicksbordone52715 жыл бұрын
If you want a starter for tokens and such, get this one hands down. If you don't need a set, or after you get this one, feel free to get decks from either set. Both are good starting points.
@ReadyAimFire_5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for you replies. I want tokens, so im gonna buy this blue starter set.
@greeksotiris5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is a better starter than the first. For one, it's cheaper, and can share it the money to pay the extra for the tokens. The first starter cost 40+ euro, whereas this costs 25+ euro. Way better value.

I found a a copy KEYFORGR 2019 2 player starter set of this yesterday for £3 at a charity Shop in UK. It had 2 seal deck (that original come with game). Plus surprisingly, I believe it as 3 extra non seal decks, so I apparently got 3 deck in the game. So sometimes buying use pays off more than just used condition box, cheaper price and sometimes extra components in this case, 3 extra KEYFORGR deck.😅

I like Age of Ascension way better than the first expansion. Sealed tournaments in particular are WAY more fun, there's less chance of getting a complete garbo deck.

I fell off keyforge since it really just wasn't as interesting as Netrunner, but it's also fine and might be worth looking back into.

Honestly the whole concept of Keyforge is garbage to me, sure it might be fun but outside of drafts it's a huge money-sink and i hate games like these, i get a bit sad everytime i remember that Android: Netrunner died even with such a nice collector friendly business model T_T
@winnie6665 жыл бұрын
What? Money sink? You spend 25 dollars and you set for life with 2 unique decks. You don't need anything to play it. Android and the other LCG-s are really mony sinks, but it is definetly not. No one can buy all the decks. Yes, it is a money sink, if you keep buying decks, but why bother?
@saifchoudhury1645 жыл бұрын
I spent far more on Netrunner than I ever will on KeyForge-NO WAY is KeyForge less “collector friendly” than Netrunner.
@marcosfernandesdesousajuni95765 жыл бұрын
@@saifchoudhury164 Sure man, than try collecting all the cards in Keyforge, then tell me how much it cost you and we'll compare it with Netrunner!
@marcosfernandesdesousajuni95765 жыл бұрын
@@winnie666 If you're happy playing the same 2 decks indefinitely then sure, good for you man! I wish i could be like that...
@saifchoudhury1645 жыл бұрын
Marcos Fernandes de Sousa Júnior The LCG model promotes completionist behavior. I play multiple LCGs, both competitive (Netrunner) and cooperative (Arkham Horror). The fact that one *could* conceivably have all the cards encourages people to buy all the cards. However, you don’t need to own every card (or every deck) in a collectible game. In a collectible game, you could buy just the cards you need as singles, and still be able to build multiple top-tier decks. Plus, in KeyForge, there’s no point owning every card, if you can’t have every card *combination*. That “frees” a lot of people from the perceived obligation to buy decks indefinitely.
