Thanks for this, I've used keyframes but it's been trial and error, will go back and practice more.

Very informative and well made tutorial. Wish I was using "Vegas" to make the best use of your experience :-)

Is Vegas even available these days?

I was considering upgrading my Movie Studio 13 Platinum Suite to 14, but at $79 it seems a little high. I just upgraded my PowerDirector 14 Ultimate to version 15 with ColorDirector 5 AND AudioDirector 7 included (ColorDirector by itself is $129 normally. You can do some very cool stuff with that, in addition to color grading.) Anyway, I use several video editors, as features available in one are not necessarily available in another. Movie Studio Platinum Suite is still used on occasion when I need full control over certain types of effects, but I find myself leaning more and more on PowerDirector, as it is super easy to use, fast and very rarely crashes. I vowed never to buy anything again from Pinnacle because of their long history of making video editors that crash every 10 minutes. JW3HH

THanks for that. Ive been a long time user of Vegas,. Power Director is in the same ballpark on pricing and offers good value for money too.

I forgot to mention that my PowerDirector upgrade for all that was only $59! (You have to wait until; they sweeten the deal, which usually takes several months after a new version comes out). Great channel! Another reviewer said that VMS 14 is much more stable than previous versions. Have you found that to be true? JW3HH

I never had too much a problem with stability even tho my PC is pretty moderate. VMS 14 breaks if i delete a clip whilst playing. apart from that its fine.

Good to know. VMS (13) mainly crashed for me during the final rendering stage, but not always. It was certainly FAR more stable than anything I've ever owned from Pinnacle (I hear they've addressed this issue - finally - since they were purchased by Corel, but it's too little, too late as far as I'm concerned). The main thing I like about VMS is the amount of control you have over just about everything. This also can make the learning curve a bit steep for some, but the results, in many cases, are worth the effort. Thanks for your time. JW3HH

Why disable 'resampling'? Also, it's worth pointing out that how far in you should zoom to an image or video depends on the resolution of that video or image. You do not want to see pixels! (Unless that's the effect you're shooting for). JW3HH

If you have changed the frame rate of any clip, then resampling will give you an unwanted shadow effect - see my video on disabling resampling. Re zooming in, if you are really zooming in a long way Id suggest using large images - say 3840x2160 then this becomes much less of an issue.

Yeah, right after I clicked "Reply" I noticed one of your videos on the sidebar talking about resampling. And I agree that for non-HD videos this should not be on by default or should at least be something that can be turned off by default in the preferences. JW3HH
