One issue I had is the assumption that Hela needed to match the gigaton of energy needed to destroy Mjolnir. Mjolnir is both a physical and magical weapon. If "magic" is simply technology we have yet to understand, we can suppose that Mjolnir has a self-destruct function, like most weapons of mass destruction nowadays, that only Hela and Odin knows. If that was the case, then the scene where Hela destroys the hammer, she was not matching its energy to crush it but rather the hammer was expelling energy as part of the self destruct sequence. Not a full energy explosion but only what was needed to destroy itself inside out.

The thing is, there’s a huge flaw with your whole jet argument first off the bar fries doesn’t work like a jet at all second it’s a tractor beam which means whatever is inside of it should be completely still and not moving the only way they would be able to move is if they’re going faster than the bi Frost

I think this version of Hela is based off of Ultimate Odin. In the Ultimate U Odin used his own energies to create and power Asgard. And the Norn Stones. Making him weaker mystically, but keeping him alive even longer. As long as he lived, so did Asgard and the Norn Stones exist. And vice versa.

Hela is likely the most powerful character in the MCU. Sad that we may never see her again as Cate Blanchett played her perfectly. Although I sustain that she's not really dead, since as stated by Thor and Odin, Asgard is not the place it's the people and Asgard is still alive. Moreover she's the goddess of death, can you even kill death?

@@KeyIssues yeah forgot him, so second most powerful at any rate, although with that in mind I'd argue that while Dormammu is an interdimensional being he was still unable to leave his dimension without being called from the other side, while (and I'm speculating here) Hela was trapped in hel which could be counted as another dimension and only Odin's life force was strong enough to keep her there and once he was gone she had no trouble coming back.

@Snehil Shrey True but from what I gathered in the movie she fully believed herself capable of it as him showing up did not phase her too much and she went right into battle against him without hesitation my guess is she was still not at full power. Plus calling Surtur weak for MCU is a bit of a stretch, he had enough power to destroy a "planet" so far no other MCU character but Thanos (Odin, Ego and Dormammu too probably but we've not seen them actually use their full power) with at least the Power stone has shown to have enough power to do so. And Hela actually hurt Surtur when they fought, since with Hulk he merely tossed him aside and went on his business of destroying Asgard but when Hela attacked him he focused right on her.

Just remember that in Marvel Comics Hela is the daughter of Loki, she's neither good or evil, capable of empathy, she doesn't have boring spike-throwing powers and instead relies on necromancy, and she has no interest in ruling the world of the living, as her function is to watch over the souls in Niffleheim. In short, Hela of the comics is a genuinely interesting character while that thing in the MCU only has Hela's antlers.

After Wandavision, the Scarlet Witch is hands down the most powerful avenger. Dr. Strange is only more knowledgeable than her in the mystic arts but she clearly has far more raw power and that's only the tip of the iceberg as she never had training on her powers.

Hela added so much to the MCU. Such a thrill to finally have a female supervillian. She’s so well written and Blanchett gave one of the best performances of literally any character in the franchise. My only gripe was how they made her their sister instead of Loki’s daughter (cannon in comics and Norse mythology) missed out on a golden opportunity to breathe life and depth into his exhausted (tbh perhaps overstayed) role in the films before he dies.

if you’ll recall, she was stabbed straight through her torso by an Asgardian Soldier and it didn’t even phase her and it left no wound afterwards. The thing with Hela is that she’s miles stronger than Thor even away from Asgard, but on Asgard itself, she draws power from it and is basically invincible. I’m pretty sure Surtur bringing his sword down her didn’t even kill her, but she died when he destroyed Asgard at the same time. And frankly Surtur is the only being in the universe who could destroy Asgard entirely, meaning Hela cannot be killed by anything short of Ragnarok itself. I’m fairly certain she could bring down Thanos with 5 out of 6 infinity stones in his gauntlet. And because Surtur’s power is conditional upon interacting with the eternal flame and that Ego the Living Planet needed a second Celestial to begin to terraform the galaxy, Hela is/was next to Dormammu the most powerful being in the universe, at least until Scarlet Witch masters her chaos magic.

I never really thought about it. She was overpowering Thor in his base form. Thor in his base form is able to trade blows with Hulk. She is probably not only the strongest MCU character, but the most powerful. Except for maybe Thanos with the gauntlet.

There’s evidence to imply she never died. If you look at the portal and the color green it shows. When she fights Surtur and he comes down with his sword you can see the portal just as it strikes. Not that it’s fact but interesting theory to look into.

Also consider the fact that these blade are generated from her, in nearly infinite numbers, and break on impact... where all black is a singular blade that cannot be destroyed nearly as easily

The weapon manifestation Is the necrosword crown. The crown is what allows her to make the swords. It's probably a weapon built a long time ago at the same place Thor hammer was built

We never got to see Odin in his prime in the MCU; the closest we got was him scaring off the entire Frost Giant army in Thor 1. Odin in his prime being powerful enough to subdue and seal away Hela? He was probably one of the most powerful beings to ever exist in the MCU, no wonder Thanos waited until he was gone to make his move.

Let's be honest about the hammer thing... Odin was dead, Hela was freed from his prison and she was now the ruler of Asgard. As the ruler, she was the "dominant" ruler of all Asgardian magic and artifacts. Basically she could do what she wanted with anything there, like Mjolnir. That's why she was able to stop and break it.

Asgardians increase in powers as they age making Hela more than a match for Thor just based on the fact that he's her younger brother. My guess would be that the only reason Thor exceeds Valkyrie is because he's in Odin's bloodline. Valkyrie was around when Hela was challenged the first time so she's got a decent power level as well.

@@jameslyon2338 i don't think there are such things as lesser stones when it comes to the Infinity stones, a sliver of the Tesseract energy created Capitan Marvel who is in the top 5 most powerful characters in the MCU, like the mind stone created Scarlett Witch which is one of the other heavy hitters, and when you think about it in the context of the movie Hela spent the entire second half of the film trying to get the bifrost sword to leave Asgard, why did she not just double back and get the Tesseract and use that to move around the universe like Loki did and literally everyone else who was after it did? The only reason I can think is that she did not have anyone capable of making something to harness it's power as Loki had to use a scepter, Thanos the Gauntlet and the Kree the light speed engine. But other than that it really does seem she viewed it as beneath her

That's a character who deserves an entire standalone movie. The very first moment Hela appeared a destroyed Mjolnir with a slight grin oh her face and made the most sexy remark in the history of movie fights, i am in love with her. She is a female badass character done right. Probably the best thing in the entire Ragnarock movie. With the makeup, the attitude and Cate Blanchett's acting this was one of the best if not the best MCU characters.

Well firstly keep in mind that magic plays a huge role in all her feats. I wouldn't equate strength of a multiple nukes to her grip just because she destroyed the hammer. Her power comes from her knowledge as much as her magic. The hulk used all his force and could not pick up the hammer yet hela held and destroyed it? Ask how! She used to own the hammer and based on her words of "you've no idea what's possible" implies that she knows way more about the hammer than thor she used to own it before thor and very possibly learned way more of its power and secrets just odin appears to know more about it's capabilities. It's wholely possible that she simply knew how to circumvent it's enchantments and destroy it that way. Knowledge comes into it again when she calls the glove fake the casket weak and points to the cube and says "not bad" implying she knew exactly what it was (space stone) and how to use it. Remember she has been around the block before she looks to have learned all there is to know about what weapons and objects are in her universe her destroying the hammer could have been an extension of that knowledge.

what i would like to have seen is an alternate timeline where hela succeeds in beating thor and friends and sutuyr never gets resurrected thus she remains in asgard with her full power and thanos invades looking for the space stone. how would she fair? i think it would be one hell of a fight and if his "destiny" wasnt to collect the stones i think she would even win... tho i have to wonder about the telekinesis guy in the black order. if he gets a hold of her while another shields her it may be enough for them to subdue her tho this is assuming itd be a one vs 3+.. i imagine she could just resurrect her army again and win with her regeneration. tho 1v1 against anyone i think she wins.

I respectfully disagree with your statement that Hela could defeat Thanos if he had only a few of the infinity stones. While I may agree that Hela could possibly defeat Thanos if he didn't have the infinity stones and she was on Asgard, but not sure Hela could defeat Thanos off Asgard, since she's at her most powerful on Asgard and the most we've seen of Hela's power at her weakest is her destroying Thor's hammer and overpowering Loki and an unarmed Thor. I argue that Thanos with the power and space stones could defeat Hela on Asgard because if he figured out the source of Hela's power (Thanos in the MCU is smart enough to do so), all he would need to do is use the power stone to destroy Asgard and the space stone to get to safety.

Consider this..... thanos had all stone and thor had only one strombreaker and he stabbed him and thanos was almost dead.... and now back to hella.... She can use her weapon countless times and she can use it from far away from her target PLUS She heals, and thanos don't heal and if you watch her fights in Asguard, you will see, she is fast enough that she will not give thanos a chance to think and stab him countless times to death because she is smart and fast enough to manage asguardian coming to her from every direction, so she can beat thanos and he will simply die in a fight with her.

@@jonash5555 fair enough, but here's my counter argument. Thanos with 5 stones was able to overpower everyone who tried to stop him from getting to the mind stone. He used the space stone to make either keep things from reaching him, or to cause people to pass through him. Thanos also used the power stone to push people out of his way, and the time stone to undo things. It's true that Thor almost killed Thanos when he had all the infinity stones but the reasons were that Thor's first attack caught Thanos off guard and Thanos wanted to use the power of the infinity stones primarily for the snap. Remember Thanos had plenty of opportunities to kill many of the Avengers and guardians of the galaxy but chose not to unless he had no choice (Gamora) or felt they were a threat to his plans ( Heimdall and Iron Man). Plus Thanos with all the infinity stones still killed half of all life in the universe. Also the alternate timeline version of Thanos from endgame would have destroyed and remade the universe with the infinity stones if Iron Man hadn't stopped him. I am sorry, but there's no doubt that Thanos with all of the infinity stones would have destroyed Hela, even at her most powerful. The soul stone in particular allows Thanos to control life and death, even though we haven't seen the full extent of the soul stone's power.

Second of all, Thanos is physically tough enough to withstand the backlash of using all of the infinity stones. Next, the main point is that despite how powerful Hela is, she can't defeat Thanos with all the infinity stones. Also, it's implied that Thor with stormbreaker is stronger than Hela since stormbreaker was a king' s weapon. When Thor was trying to create stormbreaker, he knew he couldn't beat Thanos without it, when Thanos only had 2 stones. I am not even sure if Hela's blades are as strong as stormbreaker's blade, even though Hela herself was strong enough to destroy Thor's hammer Mjolnir. It took a lot to deal lasting damage to Thanos. Even if Hela could deal a killing blow to Thanos, she would still have to catch him off guard, otherwise it won't kill Thanos. Proof of this is how all of Thanos' near defeats were due to unforseen variables, yet he still won. If Hela had to fight Thanos with all the infinity stones in a straight up fight, she would lose.
