They announced last night they're going to offer $50B of low interest loans for provinces to buy unsold completed homes. It'll probably be a test before a wider rollout. There's estimates out there that they need to buy upto $500B worth of unsold property to move the needle. Their problem is consumer confidence and since the majority of household wealth is held up in home values they need to stop the slide of home prices.
