This is the very first song that introduced me to the whole djent genre and opened a whole new musical door for me... Thanks VOLA, that day changed my life forever.

Saw Earthside and Vola at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago...what a night..found free parking across from the venue and the gummies kicked in just as the first band started. After the show Vola sat on the edge of the stage and took pics and chatted with everyone...super nice dudes and sooo professional!. Those riffs really come alive when you're standing 3 ft from the band! Thanks @geebz

Saw them twice in November -- Cambridge and Baltimore. Unbelievable value for the price. Here's hoping they do a more substantial American tour when they return for Prog Power in September...

They'll get bigger if someone takes them on tour. They just did a headlining tour in the US/Canada and it was their first time in North America. Maybe 15 dates? I saw them in Chicago at the beat kitchen. They were really good. So I think they have a chance if they get more eyes on them. Drummer was on point.

VOLA happens to be my favorite band on the planet. Thanks for coming back around to them. Nicolai Mogensen says his bass tone comes from sending two feeds to his amp -- one clean and one through a pedal.

Vola and Devin Townsend always make me feel euphoric. Something about the weight of the metal combined with the ethereal melodies brings a grown man to his knees.
@ScottDincorn
@ScottDincorn Жыл бұрын
The drummer doing those funky displaced accents over the 1 is really jarring in a fun way. The vocals coming in to lock you into the count is really satisfying. Periphery has done that quite a bit, where the whole band is doing polyrhythms and Spencer comes in with the pop hook to lock you in. Also, whoever mentioned that Loathe is like the spiritual successor to this band or whatever, wow can I ever hear the similarities. Also also, a Loathe slowburn is going to be absolutely amazing.

VOLA is awesome. I became a fan this past year, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them live eventually in southern California. I agree with you on preferring a more occasional usage of growls to highlight a certain special section of a song.
