I can't help but overthink every little thing I do, and it really trips me up sometimes. It sucks, but I'm working on it. Seriously thank you for this video. It was honestly so helpful

Legend has it that the one person that disliked was the ACT trying not to let others see this video

I literally excel in everything but Reading. The timing on it is just the absolute worst for me. I feel like even 55 minutes wouldn't be enough.

I was wondering how you corrected/learned from missed problems on the ACT reading section? I know you can probably find the answer in the passage if you look long enough, but on the actual test, you don't have that kind of time. Reading, unlike math, is not the same type of problem, it has different passages and questions every time. (rip I suck at the reading section, both time wise and just comprehension in general) And just thank you for this video, it was concise yet straight to the point!:)

Glad this video was helpful! When I looked over my incorrect answers, I would compare and contrast them with the right ones and specifically note why they were wrong. I know most prep books will have explanations why, but it helps to come up with the answer by yourself. That way you should be able to shift your way of thinking to the way the test writers want you to. It takes a little bit of practice (I did more SAT prep than ACT, but even still I was scoring maybe an equivalent of a 29 at first), and while yes, the passages/questions are different the "types/themes" in ACT reading stay the same so as time passes you should be able to pick up on trends. I don't know if you're taking AP Lang, but we had similar reading questions in that class so I would bring in my incorrect SAT questions sometimes to my teacher and we'd discuss and figure out what went wrong. I've seen people on r/ACT post asking for help too if you can't access a teacher. Sometimes the passages are just written to be confusing (imo) so it's normal to get them incorrect at first, and even then you don't have to get all of them correct to do well (I didn't).

megzcreates I see. I will definitely take more time to correct my answers in the future! I think I sometimes take the test, and feel like I’ve already done enough (honestly just too tired to correct my answers for another two hours), but I know I need to correct. I try to tell myself, what’s the point of spending four hours to take a test if you don’t even learn something from it? ... the kind of motivation I need. I just had one more question: what resources did you used to practice for the ACT Math and Essay Section? I feel like I’m pretty good at math, but when it comes to ACT math I completely bomb it:/. But, thank you so much for the response, I truly appreciate what you’re doing for all of us stressed seniors!!❤️

I totally understand! Don't feel bad if you need to take a day or two after taking the test to review your answers, sitting there for four hours is exhausting haha. Be kind to yourself. For the math section, I was scoring pretty well already so I don't know how much of a help I can be, but what pushed me from a 32 to a 35 was really getting used to the last 10-15 questions, since they're significantly harder than the rest of the section (I used to get only questions from that last bit wrong). I watched a Mario's Math Tutoring video the night before on common ACT Math questions and also memorized a formula sheet (you can find those on r/ACT). The formulas for things like permutations came in clutch. I always try to do the first half of ACT math really quickly in comparison to the second half, so I have enough time to do the rest. For the essay section, tbh it's a lot like AP Lang essays (if you've taken that). I read up a few model essays and tried to gauge what the graders were looking for (how the essays presented the example info, what kind of analysis) but if I remember correctly it's mostly just a persuasive essay.

Hey, idk if you still check comments of this vid, but I have a question that DESPERATELY need an answer: How do you do the Little Picture questions quickly and accurately? I find it hard to find the keywords of such questions within the passage in time, so that’s why I ask.

Hello. My biggest problem is time. I think that 35 minutes is not enough time to answer all the questions. What strategy did u recommend. Did you read the entire passage? Did u read the question first? Or what’s the strategy
