Bought the book immediately. Please share books more often, or better yet put a reading list on your website. On that note, do you know any books or podcasts that cover the technical side of shipping freight? Supply chain management, project management, stuff like that.

The DAT podcasts and shows are pretty good for technical discussions. Chris Caplice, Dean Croke, Ken Adamo are all great people to read and follow. Along with Jason Miller. I don’t have any books I’ve come across that have been very good on the subject. Most of the academic literature doesn’t translate well to practical uses. If you come across any, please share with us. I’ll start recommending more books. Here’s a few others: the lost art of listening, Influence- Robert Caildini, How Emotions are Made.

Hey guys, big fan here. Had a question for your next Final Mile. I have a shipper who has a LTL shipment valued at $90k that they are asking me to quote. The shipping coordinator says that he never pays for full additional insurance to cover the full value of the load - my question is this: if I choose not to get full insurance (which is the only way I can give him a competitive rate to what he currently gets by finding them himself) and something happens to the load, am I the one who is financially on the hook? Also, I was considering drawing up a contract saying that the shipper formally waives us of responsibility, do you think this would be enough protection? Please advise.

We’ll answer in length in an upcoming Final Mile. Short answer, yes have them confirm the load value and the amount they want to insure. That will cover you. And if something happens, they’ll only recover that amount.

Nate/Ben, for freight agents do you recommend forming an LLC while working under the brokers authority?

Yes.

Do you have any content on this already? Or can you talk about this in the next final mile, please? I work remotely from Canada as an agent. I would like to know about the benefits and best practices of opening up an llc as an agent. Thank you!@@Freight360

There’s a ton of content on how to close them. Where are you in the process?

I am just doing 200 calls per day, to different manufacturers and suppliers but they just hanged up or already contacted.. My company has a eye on me and I believe I have 1 or 2 week more to save my job. Please help...🙏
@Freight3605 ай бұрын
@@tusharsharma9421 how often are you following up with them? On average it takes about 9-12 follow up calls to the same company over about 3-4 months in the current market. There are situations where you can close a customer faster. But that’s what most are seeing this year.

@@Freight360 Well I do follow up a company 4-5 times but now as you said I will increase the follow up times?
