This is great! Thanks a lot for the material sharing!

I dont use keyshot, but instead of duplicating the noise for the roughness map, if keyshot has a range/interpolation node then you can just route the noise into that and then interpolate the values to get the output you want.

The cut out has been brushed creating horizontal striations. Another layer/ horizontal bump map would have given more depth to simulate brushed aspect. Nice one.

You're right! Good catch.

Thanks for that awesome tutorial! I just have a major problem adjusting the scales of the bump maps. If I give it two bumps, I cant change their scales to diffrent numbres. Same if I add a label onto a textured material. The label atomatically takes the scale of the bump and i cant seperate them... Am I missing something I have to tick off or untick? Id really apprechiate an answer as this problem is kind of in the way of my deadline at uni ^^Thank you Esben :)

fantastic as always. think the model could have done with some radii on the corners of the thumb depression to improve the look. I'll be trying this material out for sure. thanks again!!!

Thanks a bunch. I think I have some small radii on it, but it could have been bigger for sure! Thanks for the comment :)

Love all your tutorials, very inspiring and engaging :) One thing I'd be interested in seeing is how you might approach welding or weld beads on a product. :)
@esbenoxholm7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Yeah, that is an interesting one. I would probably model that in the 3D software depending on the curvature of the weld. A flat one might be doable using a bump map. I'll add it to the list of tutorial topics and see what I can do :)

Look good. Thank you so much. Please, let me know how to make mirror material?
@esbenoxholm7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. For a mirror I would go with the 'metal' material type with a white or very light gray color.

can some one tell me what is best 1. To set the Enviroment and lighting, then do the materials or 2. Set the materials first and then do the rest. Incase if the answer is 2 which HDRI is the standard to set materials for? thanks in advance!

hi thank you for your tutorial. I'm sorry but which version of keyshot are you using? we are using version 5, and couldn't add second or third bump map. thank you in advance.
@esbenoxholm7 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan. You need KeyShot 6 or above to use the material graph. Adding more than one bump map in prior version is not possible.

Hey Esben! Love your tutorials. I'm a new sub but I have already learnt a lot from watching your videos. I was wondering if you could render the final result in your tutorials and upload it somewhere so that we can see it in high quality. I would love to see your final and compare it to mine. A lot of detail is lost in these compressed KZbin videos, as I'm sure you're well aware. Just a thought! Keep it up!

Hi Ben. Thanks a lot! That is a great idea. I'll see what I can do.

Sure, that is a great idea. Added to my lift of topics :) Thanks.

I'm using KS 5, I don't have the material graph option. Is this mac only?

Solution was update to KS 6.

Sure. I had problems uploading it to the KeyShot Cloud, but you can grab it here: gumroad.com/esbenoxholm

Bead Blasted Aluminum.kmp How do I open it?
@esbenoxholm6 жыл бұрын
In the material tab, in the library panel, select the folder you want to add the material to and hit the 'import' button (second icon next to the search bar in the top of the material library), browse to the .kmp file and hit 'open'. That shoudl load the material into the selected folder.
