I have been waiting for this for a long time! thank you so much ;) I would love a webinar in mastering wood! all the textures and finishes. I think, as an industrial designer, it would be worth it, for wooden furniture.

At 51:55 you show a rotation about the light object axis even though you're rotating a group. When I do the same it rotates the group about a common axis, how do I get it to rotate all of the lights about their own center point? Thanks!

its funny listening to your explenation on how keyshot watts are way bright after i just used a 5000 watt point light in a model to get the scene right. it was a big geometry though.

I'm an ultra newb. How can I move the default light source? I want it lighting up the underside of the object instead of from above.

Great seminar, thanks - even as a 'seasoned' user I picked up some tips. One thing I'm struggling with though, and I thought you might have addressed it, is the blotchy effect you get on surfaces. Right at the end of your demo I could see the blotchy effect all over the walls, how on earth do you get rid of that? Is that where increasing the samples comes in? Really frustrating me. Thanks for great content guys.
@richardinobonito8 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, thanks for watching! The blotches will disappear over time, they're usually only visible for a short time while the lighting/shadows are calculated. Once the real-time view sits for a while (or the image is rendered) the results should be smooth.
@robwoods86958 жыл бұрын
Richard Funnell II Thanks for the reply Richard, however I wouldn't have a problem if these blotches disappeared once the scene was rendered. In my case the anomalies are still there in the final image. Is this something worth taking up with support?
@richardinobonito8 жыл бұрын
Rob Woods Is there any chance you have caustics enabled under your lighting presets? That may take longer to resolve. Also, are you on KeyShot 6?
@robwoods86958 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, yes I'm on v6 latest update. I know one of the renders I did used caustics but I'm also sure others didn't. Perhaps I'll take this up with support and send examples...
@richardinobonito8 жыл бұрын
That may be best! Also it's worth noting that the solution may simply be more time or samples; in complex scenes exceeding 1,000 samples can be common.

Q: How can the" Light from HDRI "pass through your "view"geometry in this scene?
@richardinobonito8 жыл бұрын
phonlamai disabling "Visible in Shadows" with the Emissive or Area Light materials allows the light to pass through that geometry without casting a shadow

Hello, I have made an interior model in Rhino, the roof has a hole so I trimed the roof plane. After I finished the model and exproted to Keyshot, I found when I turned on interior mode, the roof surface looks brocken by several triangle surfaces, but when I turned off interior mode the surface went back smooth and flat, could you help me to solve this problem? I tried to increase the detail level of the roof surface, but triangle surfaces still be shown in the rendering image. This is the image link. drive.google.com/file/d/0B2yE4bZRsQc7eHlXRkVsUFNISnM/view?usp=sharing this wierd problem only shown on a trimed nurbs surface
@richardinobonito7 жыл бұрын
Without actually seeing the model it's a little tough to judge, but It looks like it may be due to incorrect normals on that surface. Is it possible to re-build just that surface? I hope you were able to get it resolved. Feel free to post the issue in our forum (www.keyshot.com/forum/) if it's still an issue.
@derexy36277 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot. I thought it may because of different surface ogarnization between polygon software and nurbs software? I have fixed the normal derection several times, and it was still there. After a couple of days later, by an accident that I moved the light surface from outside of the window to the inside of the window, then all problems have gone. It was wired. But thank you for replying me, any way

can anybody show me how to create sketchup model interiors and then keyshot 6 my models are all black and i don't know how to change it:( are the problem is sketchup or keyshot
@keyshot8 жыл бұрын
Hi Kasia, do you have colors or textures applied to your model? You may want to try using the KeyShot SketchUp plugin - this should transfer your model over and retain everything. You can download it here: www.keyshot.com/downloads/plugins/
@richardinobonito8 жыл бұрын
Try enabling performance mode (Alt-P or Option-P) to disable shadows in your scene, which should allow you to see inside your model with no lights enabled.
