Thanks for the good work Jade! What would be your workaround for the Digitone to not use up all 4 of the sequencers? Great video. There are far too few videos which explain things clearly for people with not much experience. The Keystep Pro is complex for many of us and the comments in videos show that many of us have struggled with it. Arturia have done a woeful job at explaining most of the basic concepts. They act like all potential buyers are already experienced.

Question here: When you are first starting out acquiring gear, would you say it's smart to spend more on the key step pro instead of just the cheaper key step? Even when you don't have much gear to use it with. Like I only have a Minilogue, planning on getting some semi-modular synths and I'm caught trying to decide. I think the keystep pro is superior, but I keep thinking the money I would save getting the old key step could get me another synth..... liiiike that new subharmonicon. Any advice? Thanks. love all these videos with the pro and modular btw.

D A W L E S S J A M M I N ' haha true! I guess it’s a question of would I rather spend more now on a better controller even though I don’t have that much gear to use it for yet, or get a smaller controller and be able to spend more on the gear itself...? Hey Jade & other people! I have a Problem with my Keystep Pro and CV outputs. The output for the cv note control is way to high. I had the similar problem with my beatstep pro previously but it was an easy fix inside the midi controll center. With the keystep pro I tried changing the base note inside the device and also with the midi control center. The notes are way still to high, the lowest note I am able to get, still sounds like morse code. I tried it with an doepfer 110-1, plaits and rings and its everywhere the same. Could it be that my device is broken because obviously you are able to play deep notes with your rings, even without changing the octave on your keystep pro. I´d be really happy about some help!

I love the one device for an interface...however, and this is my problem with eurorack synth voices and sequencers...no change in length of each note. I really enjoy eurorack for percussion and sample playback, but I've yet to hear or experience synth voices as expressive as what can be done on a standalone keyboard synth. Anyone know about a sequencer with varying gate / note lengths? And that would not take hours to program?
@grantmullen4152
@grantmullen4152 3 жыл бұрын
You can change the individual gate lengths on key step pro by holding the step and turning the gate knob, check out loopop’s tutorial vid! Feel you on how keyboards are just a lot more expressive than eurorack, each has their strong suits.

@@grantmullen4152 Thanks. I got an Erica Synths Black Sequencer not too long ago and it has really opened things up for me. Easy cv and gate controls. So, although I would love a keystep pro & I was already looking at the reg keystep. Hoping that this was just a newer version of it but, this is more like the next step up. Big bruh if you will. I have a Roland DJ-505 for which I was initially looking for a midi controller for it like the Arturia minilab II or, Novation MK 3. Basically, something with midi I/O. Then upon watching many synth vids, I find it more intuitive. The Analog is dope & my TRS has ABC. Having the option to go dawless is really cool & the laptop I have is pretty slow. So, until I build my gaming desktop or, upgrade the laptop I don't want to be restrained from utilizing a creative mood. Now, to the point of all this......here's my first synth possible's- Roland SE-02/SH01A or, Korg Volca Nubass or Volca Keys? The lower priced Korg's are definitely budget friendly on top of just buying DJ Controller, Studio Monitor's, Audio Interface, Furman power conditioner, case, headphones, etc. Also, keyboarding needs to be brushed up on which makes not only the analog more ideal than a midi-controller. If you were to provide me with any advice as with which to begin with, without worrying about any complaints in regards to your recommendation, what would ya' say? Around the $100-$300 range, with not just low price in mind but, I'm attempting to choose a synth with as many options as possible. Especially, with grimey, crunchy, wobbly bass tone's. From what I gathered, monophonic limits your note's, in comparison to a polyphonic & so I was keeping that in mind. Although, I've heard monophonic is not bad including for beginners. BTW, a couple others I considered were the Crave, Wasp, & Neutron. Might have forgotten to include another Behringer, & the Korg FM. Sorry for being so long winded. I know this first synth will be the beginning of a eurorack eventually. Keystep Pro 4 show! No matter what I purchase, I do an in depth review of all option's. While keeping in mind longevity & what options are & will be available to me in the future. Even if you could narrow it down to 2 options, that's cool. I won't be mad atcha no matter what. I just ran into you channel recently when it was Wii & since then I have truly enjoyed your content. Keep up the great work! Nice shirt! I used to work at Yamaha Pro Audio Call center, trip. Novation's Circuit MonoStation looks great too!Behringer TD-3, & I found a Microbrute for $259. Decisions, decisions.
