youtube wouldn't let me add a comment so here it is. Sounds nice, but how are you sending MIDI Out from ONE midi socket to 2 instruments? And what channel is the Keystep set on?
@ranzee6 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura! Thanks for the question. The Keystep sends the sequence out to the Boog Model D via MIDI channel 1 and Kbd Ply to the SH-01A via MIDI channel 2. They are hooked up via MIDI DIN cable as follows: MIDI OUT from the Keystep to MIDI IN on the Boss DD-500 (to get the midi clock delay timing sync) - MIDI OUT of that to MIDI IN on the Boog Model D, then MIDI OUT of that to MIDI IN on the SH-01A. Hope this makes sense :) Let me know if you need anything more :)

I just got mine and tried. When setting the midi Channel to 2 on the KeyStep the sequence moves as well as the kbd play. What am I missing?

@@DuJuanSylvester 1) make sure you're all up-to-date on the firmware ... 2) it sounds like you're not properly in KBD Play mode - make sure you hold down shift and hit the Oct+ (Kbd Pay) button ... once you're in that mode you can set the MIDI channel via SHIFT + note corresponding to number written above it.

@ltxr99736 жыл бұрын
Wow, the only thing that could make the keystep's design even smarter would be if it could sequences. One for every key on its keyboard or something like that
@ranzee6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lyks, do you mean like transposing the sequence? I can already do that. Or do you mean it triggers a different sequence on every key? You could quite easily do that too - but you'd need a DAW hooked up via USB/MIDI - and then you can assign MIDI clips to trigger based on a key pressed.

Hi Ranzee, Great video.... Question...I have a Boog Model D + Behringer Pro 1 & Keystep. I'm trying to seq one and play the other at same time but no success. If i have Boog on midi channel 1 and Pro 1 on midi channel 2, surely the keystep will only play the midi channel i set the keystep to? Will the Keystep play both synths simultaneously if they are only 2 different midi channels? Really appreciate your help.. I was thinking the only way i could sequence one and play the other was to buy a 2nd Keystep?
@ranzee4 жыл бұрын
Hi 80s Man, yes - it shows it in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep3Ng3d3nLWMprM ... you ca select the KBD PLAY MIDI channel by holding down the 2 buttons + selecting the key with the corresponding MIDI channel.

Congratulations on your performance and instructions. I'm thinking of buying a Keystep. I have some doubts: 1 - How many devices can be connected to it? Hi Heleno, I would suggest the KeyStep Pro - as you seem to be wanting multiple sequences controlling multiple machines - that is what the Pro is for.
@TPsynth6 жыл бұрын
Hi. I am trying to do this but the Keystep seems to be sending the sequence on all midi channels. Is there a setting in the Keystep that needs to be changed so that sequence plays on ch1 and Kbd play is on ch2? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
