Germany has unveiled a new tank in over 40 years --- The KF51 or the Panther, is equipped with the latest tech, a larger main gun, the latest computer, and a comprehensive array of defensive capabilities -- Notably the Panther possesses the capacity to effectively counter top attack munitions, such as the Javelin missile. It can also control both Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Unmanned Ground Vehicles. Is this tank capable enough to take on Russia’s next-generation T-14 Armata tank? Let’s dive right into and find out which tank is superior.
The Germany’s KF51 is designed and developed by Rheinmetall Land system. On June 13, 2022, it was presented to the general public for the first time. While T-14 is based on Russia’s Armata Universal Combat Platform. The T-14 is intended to take the place of the aging Russian tanks. The Panther is a powerful software-driven tank that excels at gathering and sharing information on a multi-domain battlefield. On the other side, the Armata boasts a cutting-edge, fully autonomous target designation and firing system, along with advanced smart projectile protection. The panther's primary weapon called the Future Gun System, includes a 130-millimeter smoothbore cannon. This system outperforms the 120-millimeter guns with its optimized sensor-to-shooter links resulting in a 50% longer firing range and a superior rate of fire thanks to its autoloader performance. The German tank is equipped with a 12.7 millimeter coaxial machine gun positioned alongside the main gun. The tank can also be armed with a 7.62-millimeter machine gun. The Panther can be equipped with the loitering drones. On the other hand the Armata's main weapon is a 125-millimeter smoothbore gun. This gun is capable of firing guided missiles, with an impressive range of 7.4 miles. The secondary armament includes a 12.7-millimeter machine gun loaded with 300 rounds and a 7.62-millimeter gun with a capacity of 1,000 rounds. The Panther is believed to utilize the V12 diesel engine, generating around 1500 horsepower. Similarly, the Armata is equipped with diesel engine which can generate 1500 horsepower.

The better tank is going to be the one that is properly and skillfully deployed, as part of the system of combined arms operations. A tank is not some goddamn wonderweapon that can win battles on its own, just because it looks cool and scarry and is packed to the brim with high-tech gimmicks. It's just one of the tools in a whole arsenal of tools, all with their specific purposes. If those using the tools knows what they're doing, then they will win. Regardless of how nice their toys are or aren't. Wars are won not by fancy engineering but by properly deploying your battle assets and, above all else - the sheer weight of a country's industrial production and good logistics.

Even though it isn't, I'll take a heavily modded Leopard over a completely new tank designed and built by the people who continue using the tank turret space program which kills its entire crew.

@@sweaspurdoddd5466 The next guy who doesnt know anything about the armata and tanks.. The armata got a crew compartment that is armored. So if the ammunition explodes, the crew will survive. The panther has an auto loader now, so maybe we gonna see some tank turret space program from the panther - like the turkish 2A4's in syria.. The leopard (ALL variants!) for example has an ammo rack in the hull which doesnt have a blowout panel.. So if the ammo explodes in the hull. Everyone in the tank will die. So as I said, the Armata is a new tank generation - the crew survivability is unmatched.

@@waldemar31293 Wow. Outing yourself as knowing nothing about the panther in this fashion is actually insane. First of all, the only ammo stowage of the tank is in the turret, not in the crew compartment, and the crew is more separated, two in the turret ring and two at the front, so your argument of it being less survivable isn’t even true, because the entire crew won’t get killed with a decent shot to front-sides, unlike the armata. Also, the armata has an autoloader as well, so your whole “panther has an autoloader now so it’s gunna blow up” bullshit is self-contradictory. Secondly, the leopards in Syria that were destroyed wasn’t because “leopard bad” but because of two main reasons; one being that Turkish tankers thought they were indestructible and used them like they were, and that these tanks lacked adequate infantry support to stop ambushes, which are a big problem for tanks both modern and throughout history, regardless of tank and weaknesses. Also, all of the tanks were only disabled and their crews survived to manually destroy the tanks themselves, the “space program” you are referring to was a bomb dropped by the Turkish air force on one tank that exploded, which will happen to any tank, regardless of variant, ammo storage, etc.

@@sweaspurdoddd5466 The KF-51 is 10 tons lighter for more protection, and you’re so ignorant on the design philosophy of the tank that you don’t even know one of the main reasons behind its design. It was specifically made to look almost like the leopard 2 to make it familiar-to-use with leopard 2 tank crews, only requiring little extra training to get good at it, while adding new digital systems that enhance visibility like helmet on the F35, making them that much more survivable, and I’m not even including the APS on the tank that can weaken APFSDS rounds to make them much weaker and penetrative.

But we have seen max 10 Armatas on same time and one even broke down. Doesnt matter is auto brake or engine failure, it is still broken and in battle increasing chance to get killed by 80%

We cant compare a full scale production tank to a tank that is still on developing stages. Speacially knowing how sophisticated the technology and poorly developed are NATO tanks and equipment.
