The day western food outlets decided to leave China is the day of celebration. Most Chinese fast/street foods are prepared on the premises with mostly fresh ingredients, often with little or no additives. Western fast foods, depending on franchising get most of the ingredients from factories which supply them with highly processed ingredients laced with many additives. Research in the west has shown that western fast foods are killers and designed to be highly addictive. Most Chinese street foods have been sold for centuries, if not millennia, and are often healthier.

Yes, hear hear. The Maccas did the Russian a good job by leaving. Yes, likewise in Asia when the Chinese fast food are like wan tan mee, fish balls soup, roast pork rice, mixed vegetable rice, etc. How can anyone prefer the Western fast food full of addictive, sugar and what not to the Chinese or even Asian food from the street, is beyond me?

As a typical Cantonese, I am amazed to watch a pretty woman from Italy speaking very fluent Mandarin. It is also cool to see her so engaged and enjoyed the life in China. Hi Luca, I want to tell you an interesting thing. When I visited Rome 35 years ago, I wanted to buy a hamburger but there was no MacDonald. Because I was not used to the food in Italy. One day, I was shocked to see M in a far distance so we walked quickly to get there. But when we were closer, we found it was metro instead of MacDonald. Because we were in Italy for almost 20 days, we were thinking of some Chinese food. Finally, we had a Chinese lunch at Venice, not very good but better than none.

I seldom have meal in KFC and only tried Shake Shack once in my life. 🍔🍗 I didn’t say that I hate KFC, just only the tasting is slightly strange while comparing with other fast food restaurants. On the other hand, when trying Shake Shack for the first time, it tasted like heaven and exactly in a American style burger, just like Five Guys.

Ms. One do not go to an Fried chicken chain to ordering Beef Burger. That's a mistake. You don't go to Micky-D's and ordering fish burger. Micky-D's are famous for Beef - Burger.

Wow... 233 RMB is really expensive for what you bought. That's around US$35... It looks delicious. We don't have Shake Shack here but we do have KFC. The KFC here is probably like the KFC in Italy, not a lot of choices aside from their signature fried chicken. Our KFC does have chicken breast in burger buns, but ours doesn't have beef burgers like the one in Hangzhou.

China is getting more expensive for foods. I never spend more than Y200 for a single meal in China. I remember back in 2008 a meal with 5 different dishes in a restaurant in Guangzhou cost me Y100 for 4 persons eating till full. They even gave fresh oranges for free as Y100 considered big spending back then.

You will be surprised that all those foreign brands' products, be its fast food or clothing, charge a price equivalent or more to that of their own countries, even though the average wage in China is much lower. The profit margin, therefore, is much higher since labor and other costs are much lower than that in their countries. The neighbor's grass is always greener.

I find so weird people asking you if you eat a lot of hamburgers. Italy is definitely not famous for hamburgers😂 In my entire life I have only been to McDonald’s, never tried any other fast food chain also because where I live there are none. We have a place where they make hamburgers and they are made with good quality meat and fresh buns so they are very delicious. When I was in New York I went to McDonald’s and since It’s American I thought it was better than the one we have in Italy but I was surprised of how bad it actually was.

I don't think it's weird because the average Chinese can't tell the difference between Italians and Americans just by appearance, but, they do know that Italians eat pizza and Americans eat hamburgers. You might think all Chinese eat rice, right? It is not.

I am following this channel not only because of her wonderful personality but also to know even more about China. I think that people in general should be more educated about the world we live in and not put everyone in the same box.

Most people generalize people of another group when they are not from the same civilization (west vs. east). Most westerners cannot tell the dietary differences between Japanese, Koreans, or Chinese, for example. This is a fact.

外来食品都会本土食物贵一点，美国最便宜的可能是是快餐，但中国最便宜的是中餐，日常吃的比较多的也是中餐，除了发达国家，大部分发展发展中国家，汉堡价格都是高于本土食物价格，甚至高好几倍。
