@@Latte11114 I believe, the caption for the video is wrong. He clearly says: " We've got inging along here throughout". Here he is emphasizing the (ing) in the end of the verbs ( attending, healing, leaving). Meaning, the act of attention or healing are not separate and static, but are one ongoing unified movement. ie. there no interval between action and transformation. While I am acting, I am transforming (simultaneously).

The image we have about ourselves is actually what we imagine about ourselves or imagining what others imagine about ourselves. Hence, the image is nothing but a product of our imagination.

And that imagination, desires out of greed and selfishness, was formed soon after I was born and the gender is detected.... Well who was imagining and desiring for the future of me ...or the dreamers' and helped me build the thing called "ego"? So ... what is the origin of the ego, and what is it? Something pictorial and I am clinging onto it for life...?

When we imagine about ourselves and get to the conclusion that we are only love (nothing more or nothing less), one cannot be hurt, because you are able only to react with love and compassion to the one that is hurting you. It is his or her pain that is trying to hurt you. I think the way to get to a state of being only love is to watch to the pain that's being done to you in the past (especially in your childhood) and heal the wound.

This becomes complicated for me, although the hurt that has been done to me seems to pushing me toward the understanding that I’m not the perfectly moral person I thought I was before I was hurt. If I can accept that, it may help with self-forgiveness, and I’ll be less likely to be hurt again in that same way. The idea that I can rid myself of hurt completely, however, is not something I can see at this point in my life. It seems I must go through significant pain before I can take one tiny step toward freedom.

To compare is to say you’re not as good as, or you are better than. Either way doing so creates a dualistic untruth. Untruth is dissident, hurtful. It breaks the harmony of our connectedness.

Comparisons can be hurtful. Because comparison presuposes duality or separation - the idea that one is separate from the other.

If that's your perception, I won't "attack" it. But what I would say it boils down is to understand your attachments rather than detach. Understanding them will end them, detaching yourself from your image is yet another idea. An idea of an idea inside an idea inside an idea. If you feel me. Bright blessings to you.

About the comparison we brought up our children without comparing to others but still they themselves developed that nature as they grow! and we once again told them it is not right to compare yourself with others as all have their own way of thinking and capacity so I think it's each individual's way of thinking rather than someone's influence...One more thing I like to share here about how the world thinks... that is my daughter got 598 marks out of 625 in class 10th public exam and I am the first to tell her to think on 598 which is great achievement rather than on not securing another two marks to make it 600 club!! And I told her that everybody will say the same but you should not get hurt ...And as I suspected all including teachers said the same to her instead of appreciating her efforts to secure that marks!!! See how the world thinks

Wow this idea of having a name is so negatively profound ! Each day a name ties one to a definition, an identity, of the past. The truth is there is only now, and your potential and freedom are limitless. The truth is each day is born anew ( like a full reset ) and so is your existence in it.

If I'm not wrong. Only we can hurt ourselves if we don't think it or project it into our mind in the first place
@JazevoAudiosurf
@JazevoAudiosurf 2 жыл бұрын
one who is hurt resists, because he fears being hurt again. this is at the very deep core of suffering. with an aware mind, not being able to get hurt, you can't fear any psychological damage. and the physical, as K said, only becomes suffering when amplified by the psychological hurt. so not being hurt actually solves all the suffering, it is a synonym. and all the demonic actions and desire for justice and hurting other in order to 'show them how it is' is a result of being hurt. one constantly gets deeper into the belief of separation and hurt. that is hell. so there is no external law of karma that brings you to hell, it is the maintaining of the belief of hurt, which is a viscious circle. and when you hurt others they are also very likely, in their same belief, to hurt back, reinforcing your and their hurt. so when you happen to have a lack of awareness in confrontation with another, it can disappear by seing the sameness of you and the other. how incredibly similar you are at the core, with different conditioning of course. but since there are all sorts of psychological tricks in language, it happens that you get into a situation in which you don't know an appropriate response to an insult, in order to point out the sameness between you and the other. that is when the mind plays a trick and becomes hurt. the ignorance lies in language. as long as there is no complete awareness for the workings of language, the tricks can happen

For Krishnamurti an image that can be hurt seems to be a non-empty set of fixed rules I accept or take for granted. The image of myself is a subset of this set but only containing rules relevant for myself. Hence survival aspects seem to be necessarily biologically (hard wired) relevant to myself that self image has necessarily evaluations like good and bad from what I learned about my hard wired responses of my body. In that respect it seems to me very natural to be hurt and the source or the root of the hurt seems to be not only the existence of the image of myself but also the existence of hard wired biological needs which cannot always be satisfied. But maybe that's not right and in fact the nonsatisfaction of my hard wired needs is not necessarily bringing psychological hurt. Maybe it's rather a question of the mind having space and being overfilled with thought that feeling of being stuck or blocked will appear and the longer it is there the bigger the psychological hurt. Another additional answer to that question Krishnamurti was asked in the beginning whether the talk will be about psychological hurt or physical pain could be that these two are very much connected: physical pain will let certain thoughts and feelings arise on the mental level and the other way around that holds aswell.

Keeping no image inside. Then how does self esteem work? Lack of self esteem makes us suffer... Do comment
@sidstar1001
@sidstar1001 4 жыл бұрын
I believe this is a critical issue you raise here. Self esteem in the western view would probably be more of an ego-driven structure, which in a sense might keep us in the trap of inevitably comparing...(this is my humble attempt to understand K's teaching). I believe that when we reach awareness/awakening self esteem (what he is calling "an image") becomes un-important... I hope I'm making myself clear, since English is not my native language. I would so much appreciate to further explore this issue. Gratefully.

@@sidstar1001 Exactly. On the other hand, if you look, if you observe in what way you yourself have contact with Krishnamurti, with everything, you will see that it is like a "hand that tries to grasp something". It is a metaphor of our whole life: determinism, getting to A, separating it from B, C... Look at this social network, KZbin, for example: it is born by and for that. The thing that tries to catch the hand (the thought, in metaphor) has no ceiling, it can be the most transcendental thing you have ever heard, and then the thought is fascinated and the mind falls into the dark again. But it is extraordinarily simple: no matter what the words are talking about, the mechanism is always the same, and has been for tens of thousands of years. So, if you see all that (watch out! Look at the "hand" right now, it's almost there!), the social network is no longer useful, because it is the "hand" cubed... And with the metaverse, raised to the ninth. Is the mere discarding of all this - and much more than this - the expression of intelligence? I don't think you can answer me anymore, can you? Tearing down house of cards, not building them (the hand, watch out!)😄. Thank you😊

I do not agree with this.... If psychologically one should stop registering and you say an innocent mind cannot be hurt ? How would you explain it in case of a victim who has been raped or molested or has a physically abusive partner or have parents who are heading for a divorce or separation. How can one prevent registering in such cases? Please explain.
