It doesn't help that the referee was dressed like he just walked in off the street after an evening shopping at Walmart. If he hadn't been the third person in the ring controlling things, you'd never realize he was a ref. To a fighter that's already rattled and confused it's very easy to see why he wouldn't recognize the dude as a ref. There's a reason why referees wear easily recognizable and often even "traditional referee" uniforms. A foggy brained, dazed fighter cant always be expected to realize it's a ref, when he's dressed just like anybody else from the dude's corner or in the stands.

Having to a very much smaller degree when a young man I did a lot of Tae Kwon Do sparring in the RAF back in the 1970s when there were no gloves, foot and head pads and you were expected to take blows and be knocked out. Of course, we had referees who were usually ex very senior belts and no way did we ever disobey them. I do recall in an inter services competition two guys went in hard and one got knocked out. The referee stop the fight and was checking him, but just as in the last fight of this KZbin video he attacked the referee who blocked the blows easily, pulled him to him and spoke gently to him, so he came round. My friend, normally a really calm guy, was mortified and so embarrassed he could not go on. After wards very much in the respect of Tae Kwon Do at the ending ceremony asked to take the microphone, bowed and apologize publicly. Of course the referee, smiled acknowledge, accepted and shook his hand. Thus I was very pleased that this referee unlike some of the others acted with care and concern for a fighter obviously not at his level. That to me sums up what martial arts is really above.

Some of these moments of confusion really show how badly fighting like this can mess with your brain
@thinkinyblinko66663 жыл бұрын
Especially back of the head strikes. I got in a fight a few weeks ago in a muddy field and after a few punches and kicks I slipped face down and this psycho punched me in the back of my head as hard as he could twice before I covered up and rolled away. Ended up kicking his leg out and got on top of him and got a few punches to his face and a big knee to his stomach before I got up and ended the fight. Anyways when I went home and adrenaline wore off I started to feel extremely disoriented and confused. I sat down and literally started hallucinating that I was in world war 1 it was insane and so vivid, saw people getting shot and stabbed and artillery going off, nuts. Kept having hallucinations for about two more days but I was mentally slow and easily confused and very very forgetful for another 5 days. Fighting is no joke always always always avoid violence whenever possible because you never know how bad you can get damaged.

This video is Living Proof that organized fighting is a Social Magnet for Criminal Personalities. I wonder how many fighters in this video that the ref had to fight himself went on to become career criminals. Same thing with Cops. As a long time True Crime fan, I can tell you that organized Police Depts are also Social Magnets for some VERY Sick People, VERY Sick People who try to hide their Sickness behind a gun and a badge. Many people do try to adapt their Criminality/Mental Illness to a well suited job role. For some, like the violent fighters in this video, it just doesn't happen.
