Kgalagadi - the Dusty Season Ep1 (or 5-day cricket in the Kgalagadi)

We visit the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park during August and experience strong winds and dust. Still, we see amazing things: Leopard cubs playing, cheetahs stalking and calling, bizarre giraffe behaviour and more... In this video we stay at Rooiputs and Kieliekrankie.
About the secondary title: The game of 5-day cricket has been compared to watching paint dry and it can certainly be boring at times. But the thing is that even though nothing may be happening, something COULD happen at any moment. Kgalagadi is very much like that.

As a seasoned viewer of many well known SA overlanding and game viewing YT channels, this is up there with the best with a nice feel to it and tastefully produced. As I grew up in the 60's thru 80's, I remember those long cricket tests very well and thus loved the 5-day test match analogy. Very sharp. 😉🏏

Beautiful, thank you, absolutely exquisite photography. We were in Kgalagadi early June, also long stretches of meditative 5 day cricket until we were at Rooiputs - between Rooiputs and Kij Kij a flood of ‘wickets’, cheetah kill, lions x crazy and further on your Melkvlei leopard cubs, younger and further away. Rooiputs camp itself the lion were in the camp with us for 2 days, made for a hair raising early morning when my husband almost walked into 2 lionesses lying outside the loo!
