the song is more about someone that is still hoping the relationship works out despite the fact that the other person puts them aside for unknown reasons/ does not reciprocate fully what the other person is giving them, but still leave them hanging for the convenience of having a fallback. at least that's how I interpret the song. new subscriber here. more power and more reactions to come!

Ur correct. This song is about being the second choice, but them still calling you when they need you and then disappearing again when they no longer do. They get away with this because you're letting them and you yourself know that you love them enough to let yourself be on their backburner. The lyrics are actually quite dark lol. The melody (and the MV) made it out to be a lot cheerful to kind of neutralize its deeper meaning.
