Probably some of the rude comments are of those who can’t appreciate the size or beauty well through a video. It looks gorgeous! And I’m sure even more in person. Great on you guys to have taken those fishies off to a better life.

I think the white and grey koi is called a kujaku. Im not 100% sure on that, that's just what I found by looking it up. Love your channel and I have learned a lot from your videos. You and Lisa are awesome

Thanks for blasting those idiots in the comments. Sometimes the trolls need to be put in their place. Also hats off to the girl who reached out about the fish. She could just killed them all and not tell anyone. But she cared enough to help out the fish in need. Great video!

I wouldn't worry about the haters. There's always going to be users that like to shitpost. I'd take it with a grain of salt. Most of us know you've got a great handle on things and this channel has been instrumental in helping so many people with their tanks, myself included. The one thing to remember is that responding to shitposters is what they want.

So very true. The lady and her partner did the right thing. When the owner sold the rental property. It had a fish pond. We took the fish with us. And some of these fish are now 7 year's old. And I now have 12 fish tanks in my living room.

The ponds plants and nitrifying bacteria must be amazing keeping those fish alive in that nasty pond. They are huge, can’t believe how good they looked. Shows how a good older pond can do it’s thing. Granted they probably needed to vacuum it out at some point, bet in it’s hay day it was a very nice!

Beautiful!! Just a side note: I doubt you would do this, but a friend had a prized koi pond and their groundskeeper applied something to their lawn without protecting the pond - all died quickly. 😢. As for 'evil' people - let's not say that the previous folks were the bad guys either. They may have been elderly and couldn't take care of them as well as they used to. Someone's grandkids might watch this someday, and it will break their hearts. Somebody clearly cared for them at one time - it was a beautiful setup. No bad guys, just lucky folks able to help others at just the right time!

The big red koi is called a Benigoi, I think.... The fourth koi might be an Asagi, only lacking the red underneath?? 😊😊 I really love my koi!!! Here in Norway they are inside for the winter! 😅😅 You must remember yours came from muddy to clear water..... That makes them skittish. I found that adding some floating plants helps their confidence! 😊😊 Enjoy your pond, it is gorgeous!!! ❤❤

Love this. When we moved into our home 4 years ago, we discovered that someone had filled in a cement pond. After a lot of digging and a new liner, we have a ~900 gal pond. Started off with some goldfish, but have added koi into the mix, too. Our 2 biggest koi are also rescues we got lined up with through Petco. Watching them swim about is so satisfying. I really felt you when you uttered the phrase "MPS"! The struggle is real!

I only recently found your channel. Your online personas are refreshingly genuine and you give great practical advice. Yes, you run a business, but I don’t feel like I’m watching an infomercial. I wish there was something remotely like you in these parts. We are heading into winter soon, & I’ll be working from home in an office in a semi-finished basement for the foreseeable future. So I’m cleaning up my old tanks, replacing equipment as needed, and will be slowly and deliberately setting them up again following your advice. Your channel is perfect.

Koi are incredible, and remarkably intelligent fish. Mine were trained to swim into my palm when I put my hand in the water, and were perfectly calm when picked up to examine them. They were delighted to eat pellets from my fingers, and seemed to actively enjoy interacting with humans. Or, more likely, they just wanted food, but it works out the same in the end. Congratulations on a lovely pond and some beautiful fish.

If your pond makes you happy, and you love it, that is all that matters. It was awesome of the home owners to look for someone to rescue the fish, and wonderful that you and Micah went and saved them. Are you worried about predators? I've seen so many pond owners, where all the fish were decimated by predators. Not sure how you are supposed to protect fish in a pond, or if it is even possible.
