Seeing the picture of Dan holding his red rooster (I think it's a rooster) is so touching. It speaks to his loving & caring nature. I can imagine his chickens & dogs loved him so much, seeing him bright & early to tend to them every day. And dropping off coffee grounds to his neighbor for her garden. 🌱💓He was so beloved. What a sweet & beautiful soul. RIP Dan Brophy.🌹❤

The "some other dude did it" defense is a classic...and it almost always involves naming some "other dude" and pointing the finger at that person as the killer...they also insinuated that it could have been any one of the students using the GI Bill to pay tuition...because, of course, any of them could just flip out from ptsd and shoot the place up (despicable suggestion). They also brought up that it could have been some "enraged" person who applied to the school but didn't get into classes...or any electrician/repairman/plumber/gas man that had ever come to the school. The prosecution clearly brought out with more than one witness that Oscar was cleared as a possibility.

How do you get past Nancy writing a book entitled "How to Murder your Husband"? Who thinks like that and who would want to buy that book? Dan should have seen a red flag right there! I always tell couples that both should be involved in managing the couples finances and work as team in all that a married couple's work life, home life and hobbies and personal interests otherwise you grow apart and end up in divorce ....or as in too many cases, 1 takes the life of the other for reasons 'normal' people can't wrap their arounds around. Ex: The Murdaugh murders and his extensive financial crimes against his clients and employer is the most egregious case of a narcissistic sociopath with intelligence and charisma to fool so many for so long! I think Nancy hoodwinked everyone too but in the case of Alec Murdaugh, i can see murdering your wife but your your son who loved and trusted his father to the 9s blows his head off with a shotgun blast!?!! ugh What goes on behind closed doors between married couples is in many cases is hidden behind their closed doors but to kill your own child/ren is another level of monster! Ex: CHRISTopher Coleman; CHRISTopher Watts; CHRISTian Longo are 3 family annihilators who got life and Coleman who refuses to confess to this day, should have gotten the Death Penalty imo. I think if Nancy doesn't come clean, she should die in prison but if she does and is remorseful, she deserves another chance. I doubt that at her age she can be REDeemed but i'm willing to let time tell and pray she does. I don't think Nancy is a risk to re-offend and living on the outside under supervision, she could continue to write books about her fall from God's grace and the human race as the bill$ pilling up caused her to become desperate and desperate people do desperate things. My point is ~ she could be on outside under supervision and pay her own way v taxpayers paying for her life behind bar$

The judge should be noticing that NB is coaching Susan by shaking her head. Watch when the defense is questioning about insurance commission hold backs....Nancy is coaching by shaking her head yes. SHe's probably been doing it throughout the testimony as I've caught Susan looking over and smiling or shrugging when she doesn't know the answer but Nancy is not always in the frame so I can see what she is doing. The coaching is so blatant during the defense re-cross in how insurance commissions are paid-that shouldn't have been missed by the judge and the defense should have been admonished. Defense attorney said you have to be wealthy to stay in that house. Actually, that house was a bargain ($1500/mo)...way below current market rates, and any rental would have been at least twice as much. Also, Dan must have been about 10 years from paying it off, a much healthier nest egg than paying for insurance. Nancy's ideas would have cost a fortune. Nope. They're doing it because they're mean and can't think of anything else. Despicable. It seems to be they want to dispute Karen's testimony (Day 4?5?) that Nancy cut back on how much time she was spending with the senior Brophys after Dan's death. I guess they want to make like Karen is lying. If you re-watch Karen's testimony, I think you'll agree that this would be a DISASTROUS tactic, since you can't but hear her speak and feel for her and her loss. Karen's testimony also had plenty of acknowledgement that she might mis-remember things because of her age. It was built in. Why would you want to turn someone into a liar who's already put out there she might mis-remember? For all that, Karen was soooo careful and thoughtful about what she said. IMO It's not even important whether Nancy visited Karen less or called her less. It is true Nancy told them she didn't want their help getting the house together.

@@myadhdlife4869 - It has been reported that she intends to testify, but it isn’t certain until she actually takes the stand. I expect the prosecution will have tough questions ready for cross. If she does testify, but never discusses the video which seems to show her in the area at the right time, I’m not sure if they can ask her about it. They certainly can talk about it in closing arguments, though. If defense has offered no explanation for her whereabouts on that morning, the proscutor will have a field day. Why can’t she plausibly account for her presence in the area?

This is a stunning amount IMO. And Susan wasn’t the only one. Dan’s family was helping, the other writers, the landscapers… Susan did none of the packing or moving boxes. I don’t know anyone in the landscaping business or house cleaning who would make enough to buy a car in two months. IMO Susan got a car for bringing Nancy a Starbucks in bed every morning.

Does anyone have any idea what the purpose of the forensic telephone guy is? Why would he be investigating Nancy's calls with Nathaniel, Karen, and Jack? It's just appalling to be intrusive with them. Note: they hired this guy just last week.

Aha! I think I've figured this out. This whole day of defense case should be put up against the testimony of Karen Brophy (Dan's mom, Day 4 and 5?). Karen said they saw less and less of Nancy after Dan's death. (It looked to me like that from the phone records, too, but I'm sure this will be spun a different way.) I guess defense is trying to make Karen and Jack out to be liars. This is a HORRENDOUSLY BAD idea. Karen is one of the most emotional witnesses to listen to. Her answers are well-considered and careful. Everyone will recognize her as a lovely person. Trying to impugn her credibility is just..... At any rate, look at Day 4 Afternoon. This is spellbinding.

Lol. You do know they can trace a person's whereabouts via phone signals. And since she LIED to the police about where she was, and was caught on CCTV driving past the murder scene when she claimed she was home, it's a BIG DEAL. LOCK HER UP.

Who's betting that prosecution used the day off (Friday) to execute a search warrant on the stuff in the niece's basement? And finished arrangements for Nancy's ex-bunkie to testify in the rebuttal?

This comment has nothing to do with the case and it is coming from a european. Who TF does Not make sure they have the ability to make coffee when needed; relies on a coffee chain? We are talking about a society of laziness and convenience here. It is hard pressed to talk of the US as a 'society' though these days. Even the idea of 'community' uttered by Americans sounds laughable. When 'socialisme' is a hellhole trap in your opinion, don't speak of 'togetherness'. Every man/woman for her/him-self and if possible revert back to the 'Wild, wild West' and glorify the use of guns.. No other international super-power need concern about the US; y'all imploding as is; the world sees it.

Did anyone else notice that it was pretty obvious Susan rarely talked to Nancy in the months before Dan's death? Does that mean Susan just suddenly showed up? Is there any evidence Susan actually came to Oregon when she said she did? Overstreet doesn't seem to think the "friends and family" memorial happened.
