Very few know that the catholic community from Mangalore is from the GSB community. Being one from Bamon. The cuisine and food is similar to the food that we have at our homes and prepared during festivities. I am glad to know that these cuisines are not dying by the influence and introduction of the global cuisines. Great work team Khane main kya hai to show the hidden treasures!!! Kudos!!

Goan Saraswat food is something even we Catholics drool about. As kids and even now we Goan dont cook for Charurty coz we get this parcels from all neighbors and we look forward every year. We actually have to fix days with friends that for Chaturti or Dewali we will be having lunch or dinner coz other days is for our other friends. It's an awesome experience we never miss non veg.

Thalasan. 12. Sasam. (two genera with the same name, maybe even three.) 13. Kismore (two genera) 14. Nonche.(pickle) 15. Kuta. (another genus of pickle with a short shelf life) 16. Tambide (another genus of pickle with a short shelf life) 17. Koddel. 18. Puli. 19. Yogiratna. 20. Chakko. 21. Gaslate. 22. Bharte. 23. Bajji 24. Sagle. 25. Hullala - a salad. 26. Pachadi. 27. Sanna Kotto - a savoury baked idli (baked in Jack leaves) served as a side dish with rice meals. 28. Sanna polo - a savoury thick pancake served as a side dish with rice meals. 29. Patrado. 30. Dangar - Savory fried cake. I could have missed a few. We also prepare South Indian dishes such as Sambar, Rasam and Saru at our homes.
