Kunal sir if you want to eat authentic Chinese then go to Kolkata, I am sure you must be knowing it of course. Visit Tangra area in Kolkata for some authentic Chinese & trust me you'll forget Mainland China.

*My first experience with Mainland China's was a corporate dinner at age 22 year old. I am tellin you , it was a great food , taste, service and ambience. I liked all varieties of food in buffet. The owner is Anjan Chatterjee, a bengali and their HQ is in Kolkata. They also have multiple famous brands under their name like OH! Calcutta....Sigree..Fame n grill...Haka....etc. Good to have such great dining places back at home(Kolkata). It goes without saying.. if u wanna taste authentic chinese...then come to Kolkata.

There was this restaurant on Bangalore named Ginza on church Street behind MG road. It closed down as I was growing up. I am talking my primary and high school days. More than 20 years back. I will guarantee you that it was the best Chinese food restaurant and I have never got a taste close to that food anywhere in India. I still remember the taste of the food. The way the vegetables were chopped, it was straight out of the best culinary school in china. Please comment if anyone has had food in Ginza

Not so, there is a typical Indian spice flavour in the Indian Chinese version, which is unbeatable. But besides Mainland China and other big restaurants being expensive, I also loved the street Chinese, fewer dishes, but as tasty.

Funny thing is in China, edamame, chickpeas, peanuts and a flat noodles look alike seaweed are complementary as starter, you don’t need to pay any for that, and I am not saying about just good restaurants, any roadside restaurants in China you’ll get at least one the food items mentioned above are free.

Dear Kunal though your videos are very nice but I don't like your table manners. For example in this and previous many other videos you keep helping yourself with portions from bowls using the very same fork/ spoon with which you are eating and it is strict in very poor taste. Every dish has its own serving spoon and even if there is just one serving spoon use that for every serving purposes and not your jootha spoon/ fork. As bare minimum you should use two serving spoons one for veg and other for nonveg. I know that the food is on the house but, if you use jhootha spoon then others will not be able to relish the remaining food and the uneaten portion will have to be thrown away. Request please do ensure basic table manners atleast in fine dining restaurants. Regards

I tried mainland China bandra linking Rd branch but I didn't liked it all ..... nearby stomach Chinese is thousand times better than this in indo Chinese food menu and it almost 95% cheaper .many viewers are calling it as authentic Chinese but the authentic Chinese food version is not even 1% similar to indo Chinese food served in India .....i have been to China 1000 times but didn't dared to ate the authentic Chinese food ...

Mr. Vijayakar, I know you are a foodie, but please tell me did you devour the entire plates, every one of them or you take a few spoons of each and eat, then what happens to the ‘left-overs’!? You ‘doggie-bag’ them or share with your technicians? ( पर वो तो सब झूठा हो गया, क्योंकि आप तो अपना वहीं काँटा सब में डाल रहे हो।) MainLand China had started very well, then did great business for many-many years, but now the food is very oily (only the Szechwan sauce has to have chilly oil) too much sauces, makes it salty. Not many Chinese Chef are left in India, so they have to make do with Nepali cooks. (No doubt some of them are very good) The decor is good the presentation nice, some times they are good other times they are OK-OK. Now in India all the Chinese Restaurants that were owned & run by Chinese business men are a thing of the past. Till the 2nd generation they were there, the 3rd generations are not interested. The only most authentic Chinese Restaurant that still exists is behind Taj Intercontinental Hotel, Mumbai, ‘THE LING’S PAVILION’ carrying on the Ling’s name since 1960s, ‘THE NANKINGS’ Try it sometime, you won’t regret it. Many restaurants in Bandra too, but the best street Chinese were the ones at small stalls, we used to order dishes from home, basic dishes but tasty. The dishes at Mainland China are too posh and overrated and overpriced. Been there couple times but not quite happy, too many choices, how much can one eat.
