Afghani food is sooo good, i dream of the spiced and potato stuffed bread, and the cooked in yogurt eggplant dish with it. And the coffee, best I've ever known. I think one of em was called buryanee, maybe the eggplant dish

If i am not mistaken potato the stuffed bread is bolani and the coffee wasnt coffee it was milk tea it is basically a mixture of black tea sugar and milk

I do think there was coffee in the sweet cream tea, but maybe only where they made it specifically for US soldiers, as i recall it tasting different if you sat with the men in a village, where it was likely just tea. In both cases, what an extraordinarily wonderful drink! I loved that place, and will always wish i could go back; just not how i did as a child. I saw giant mines there, and I'll never forget being told i was "crazy, or a liar" for questioning the motives of our involvement, but now they say it openly on the news! "Afghanistan has rare earth deposits worth trillions".... money really is the rot of all evil, in the society of man
