Cain Abel Conor’s team mates were bullying Khabib way before the match even started abusing his father religion and faith. Khabib jumped out of the cage in emotions and his brother who was already in the cage by then went after Khabib when Conor threw a punch on him without provocation. Seeing this other two members of Khabib’s team jumped into the cage to defend his brother that’s the reality of it. I’ve rewatched a couple times, trust me, and now I feel Ariel at least had more fairness in his argument, which I can appreciate. And as far as waiting to punch or not, that’s the point. Khabib jumps the cage and gets criticized (justly so for losing his cool), Connor punches first someone not looking after him, gets punched back and everyone loses their minds.
