What is the difference between a letter beeing sakin after which follows a hamza and a mim being sakin (because you made the mim another category) Jazakallahu Khayran

Good question. The difference is that, for mim saakin, you can only make sakt when making a stop or continuing the recitation, you can't make naql. For the other letters being saakin, u can either make sakt or naql. Hope that answers the question.

Can the teacher please explain why there is a pause in SURAH baqarah ayah 259 قال لبثت يوما ءو بعض يوم؟ there is no saakin on the م so why pause?

Its not only when its a saakin that you can make sakt. You can make a pause when its saakin or tanween too..that i think was not covered in this episode. I hope that answers the question
