I know that it is for drama and tension, but in the books, dragon scales are impervious to arrows and scorpion bolts. The only thing that irks me about this episode, the horses are knee high in water charging the dragon. How deep was the water Bronn and Jamie fell into?
@slipknot95maggot Жыл бұрын
I mean that is def a thing that can happen, trenches and whatnot. That's not impossible But, I mean, yea. Obviously there's prolly not a trench that deep and that sudden in that, what appears to otherwise be a plains biome ...but I mean it could be. Have you never seen sink holes and what not...? There are tons of places like that in real life, where's there's a small pool of water which is super shallow but suddenly drops down in a 50+ft pit into a cavern, etc etc etc, I think "cenote" is the word for that; or one word for one type of that broad feature. Some cenotes are only as wide as the tree root systems that bore them. So your incredulity about specifically how quick it goes from shallow to deep, I mean, again, yes, it prolly is bs in that it's prolly not likely to actually be there and they didn't actually justify it and it's just lazy writing or w/e, but, your incredulity is met with a large number of real life geographical features of our Earth. That....... That does happen. It's actually not even terribly uncommon. They're certainly "rare" in that you don't walk in to one every 40 feet, but, there are quite a number of them in our world. Bodies of water aren't just perfectly half-spherical bowls carved from the earth to hold fish like a bowl of cereal. Topology is a heck of a thing. There're all kinds of erosion phenomena, not to mention, again, things like tree root cenotes and so on. Fun fact [better citation needed] that I just learned; there may be over 6000 cenotes in Mexico OOPS sorry, that's over 6000 cenotes in the Yucatán peninsula alone So... Ya know. Data is fun. Personal credulity can be fun too I guess.... You do you. Again, I'm not here to say the writers were thinking about cenotes and it's all okay now. Buuuut....... You did kinda say it as if you think you're the genius in the room. Cool, well being smart isn't nearly as valuable as being educated. Just, for your consideration. It only took me seven seconds on a search engine to find this very accessible information. I didn't even need to bring my brain to the table. Only my willingness to say "huh, I think I've seen a trench before..." xDD

@intendedexpression6609 Жыл бұрын
@@nightfrost1891 Do people not change and evolve? Do people in real life always remain consistent and sound upon their prior ideology?? No. Why then do people expect the same from these characters? This is because you project your own want onto the outcome of the show. People want to see what they want play out during a show instead of just accepting the decisions of a character. As long as its something realistic, which Tyrion changing his mind on the level of aggression towards his family members is; then thats what it is. If you spend so much time trying to rewrite what has occurred you only cause more discontent within yourself. Most of this nitpicking comes from already unsatisfied bookreaders or people angry at the writers that they didn't write what they expected in their heads. The show did slope off especially during the last couple seasons but the decisions made by characters remain sound.

Similarly, the free folk / wildlings mention several times that they do not kneel. Each time, the context seems to be saying that they do not swear fealty to a king... but they also mention at other times that they simply take their spouse, not kneel and propose. @@Nightmarigny Pretty hilarious way to look at it. The author of the books signed a contract with HBO for the next book to come out in time to where the show caught up to the end of his last books. What exactly became a more important priority for George to not finish his next book in 8-9 years, & since they started shooting the first episode? You have no clue on how a business runs. Do you not understand that HBO had hundreds of employees working on GOT, that their lives were in limbo, because George was a lazy toad? D&D made the right call, they had enough of waiting around for George, they took matters in their own hands & made their announcements that season 7 & 8 would be the last of the show, so that they & the rest of the people working on GOT can plan their future. The 20 best consecutive episodes of GOT started at the start of season 6, IMO. All episodes that had ZERO book material for it. 4 of the top 6 rated episodes on IMDB come from those seasons. 3 of the top 4 episodes that got the most amount of "10" of 10" were from season 6 & on. 1 from season 8. Haters still represent a small minority, sure are loud & go out of their way to criticize, but they are not in the quiet majority. A couple of episodes in season 8 does not represent the entirety of their work. Those 2 episodes do represent the platform that George built for where the train was to arrive to. On why he's taking another 4 years to rewrite his own ending. Plenty of stuff to dissect in the first 5 seasons, as in poorly written, that's if you're not a George Fanboy.

Fun fact.. Maisie Williams is right handed, Arya Stark is left handed in the books.. when she got the part, Maisie was too young to read the books so her parents did & told her what she needed to know.. she decided to train left handed.. she was 12.

She couldn't read at 12???
@shannonbrigante5764 Жыл бұрын
@@DukeJimbob the books are not exactly age appropriate for 12.. & I believe she was cast at 11.. I’m sure her reading & comprehension levels would have been more than adequate.. however, the WRITTEN subject matter..? Might be best to skip over the gory details that made grown adults shudder when it comes to children..

She learned from Syrio First Sword of Bravos, Jaqen, The Hound. Fought like a blind warrior monk training in an old school Kung Fu flick getting smashed by the waif. Yeah, she's not gonna get hit and can hang with whomever,

People complaining really have never been in a river before. Not all shoreline is shallow. Grew up on a river & one side was shallow & had a bank in a few spots but all other edges were super deep & straight drop offs, no bank just cliff. (And surprise the cgi darkness fade out is too just add doubt if he survived or not OR could even be tied to Jaime losing consciousness/air like blue the screen went black when Tyrion was nearly drowned by the Stone Men. We never had a scene literally from a non wolf characters eyes but it was just for dramatic effect.) I don't think I'm a world with valarian steel & the craftsmanship of these suits of armor that clearly are way more mobile than our worlds (or their worlds armor for jousting for instance) that Bron plus Jaime kicking couldn't get him out. My husband loves medieval armor and weapons - you CAN swim in armor. Its not easy. But it's not as heavy as you would think. He says it's perfectly plausible Jaime couldn't gotten out ALONE so he def could have with Bron. Think about it this way. Jaime is healthy & lean. Does his armor plus him weigh more than Sam? How could Sam get out of the river then? But no one would question that.

One of the top episodes of the series 🙏🏻

People think burning the supplies was dumb but the likelihood of them getting the caravan back to a stronghold to protect was low. It was easier to destroy it & not worry about Cersei coming after it. Yes a sacrifice but better than being focused on it vs the true 2 wars to come

it was definitely a reach thinking he sent the wolves. aria straight up told nymeria she was going home to winterfell and bran said i thought you may go to kings landing
@orphanedhanyou6 ай бұрын
Yeah he thought she would.... so it's entirely possible he made sure she didn't

These two said that burning them all would be the way the only way Dany would win - by force. But you won't have love so when you see her burn honorable people you do see the horror & why its not worth defending that path.
