ABOUT THE SPEAKER -
Yasir Qadhi is the Dean of Academic Affairs at AlMaghrib Institute, the man behind the curriculum and other academically intensive programs like IlmSummit. Shaykh Yasir is known among his students for his excellent Tajweed in both Arabic and the English language (i.e. his perfect enunciation of every letter).
Shaykh Yasir graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences, and completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah. He is in the final stages of completing his PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University.

Moral : Put your trust is Allah. This calamity IS protecting you from a much bigger calamity. Allah is taking care of you but you do not/may not understand. Hasbunallaho wa ne'mal wakeel. If you are a good person then Allah will use a smaller trial to protect you from a much bigger trial. Just be patient.

Quick reflection on the story of Khidr from surah al-Kahf: Al-Kahf teaches us the spirit of Islam, how to work as agent of Allah and carry out a divine duty that is written in our hearts. Khidr was guided by something bigger them himself and at the end he says humbly: And I did it not of my own accord. The human being resembles a tree; its root is a covenant with God: that root must be cherished with all one's might. - Rumi

There is a controversy among Ulema as to the prophethood of Khidr (A.S.). Can someone with knowledge elaborate.

What is the book Allah gave to Khidr? Was he also a prophet without a book, miracle and prophesy? Where is the book of Khidr?

i am NOT a person of knowledge, but the most correct opinion is that Khidr [as] WAS a prophet. and the scholars use as a proof the fact that a non prophet [ie a person who does not receive revelation directly from Allah] CANNOT have more knowledge that a prophet, specially one who came with a book like musa [as]. it has never happened, and it does does not make sense what so ever.

you should listen to the speech before making such statement, Khidr was a prophet of Allah without a shadow of a doubt. every single prophet mentioned in the qur'an is not mentioned as a prophet. Allah says regarding most prophets mentioned in the qur'an "we have made them imams" "we have made you a khaleefah on the earth" "we have bestowed upon them wisdom and knowledge" and most commonly "they were from the saaliheen {rightious}"
