Thank you for this ..we need scholars who understand the texts of the Holy Quran and Sunnah and the context of our modern world ...we need to have some one who could relate Islamic texts to modern contexts ...just memorising texts alone not enough we must know how to relate the text to our modern contexts ..This is done beautifully by Shiekh Yasir and sheikh Nouman Ali khan. .for me these two Islamic scholars are best one as of today ..لا ازكي علي الله أحدا ...but we rarely find Muslim scholars who can reconnect and reconcile between the texts and contexts.otherwise ; it would not make sense to the modern man ..unless we logically and rationally take the messenge of Islam to this new generations....we like it or not new generations accept logical and rational arguements and debates.if our clerics can't convey the message of Islam logical and rationally....???

Even if their theology is dangerously wrong, and outside the folds of Islam and what we can tolerate, you have to have some leniency and even mercy to lay people who belong to that group and any group really. Their leaders and theologians will have to answer to Allah, but we should not bring animosity to those who were taught to follow a certain group from birth. To us they’re following something very wrong; to those lay people, they’re taught this religion is the correct way and they sincerely believe they’re on the right path. As we treat others who are nonmuslim through and through, we preach the truth with wisdom and mercy without exception. Once you target lay people, you risk driving them away from proper Islam. And no matter how you feel you preach to others, when you preach in a way that drives other people away from the truth, you will have to answer for that, just as those people have to answer for their acceptance of falsehoods.

Tolerance is about getting along as fellow citizens (or as fellow human beings) despite the disagreements and differences we acknowledge. Muslims exist in different sects and groups with different interpretations and practice of Islam. Obviously each group will consider itself to be right and consider the other wrong, and there should be no problem with that, so long as they can move on and get along regardless.

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal didn't conform to the Al-Mutazilah theology and as a result was imprisoned and even tortured for many years. So I guess what Sheikh Yasir is saying is, had he gone along with the false theology that was being preached and forced upon people of the time (that the Qur'an was created and not the word of Allah), we wouldn't have one of the four madhabs that we have today. Also Imam Bukhari and Muslim, two compilers of hadith, were students of Imam Hanbal.

What do you mean that you can no longer tolerate? Is this not a matter of belief in which each and everyone is entitled ?? Since when did this finality became a fundamental belief in Islam? You interpret the seal of the prophets to mean that there will be no prophet after the holy prophet(SAW) and the Ahmadis also interpret it to mean that rather all the excellences of prophethood have found their climax in the holy prophet(SAW) . Ahmadis have never resort to violence in this regard and so the so called red line is absolutely unnecessary. Islam does not belongs to Shiites or Sunnis or any group of persons, it rather belongs to Allah and the Shahada as well as the pillars of islam is the criterion that makes one a muslim. To say that someone is not a muslim just because the person truly believes in the prophethood of Muhammed but interpret the seal as standing for his excellences is unnecessary. You don't have the right to force someone to believe in something against his will and you don't have any authority regarding the so called red lines you are talking about; islam does not belongs to you but rather it belongs to Allah. You're assuming Allah sent a messenger. You're assuming Muhammad thought that he was a messenger of god. Muhammad did not believe this about himself. (If he did, he belonged in a mental institution, as does everyone who thinks God is "speaking to them".)
