It’s only because of early conscious, and political rap records (Public Enemy, Ice Cube, X-Clan...) that white kids like myself were made aware of the things that brother Khalid addressed during his lifetime. I’ve listened to maybe 100 of his interviews, and lectures, and all he ever did was hold a mirror up to both whites, and blacks, forcing us to examine all of the twisted beliefs & behaviors that have kept us culturally sick for so long. Who would have thought that simply telling the cold truth would be considered so frightening, and revolutionary?
