Nah the weight miss wasn't on purpose. Khamzat's just a massive guy. But the UFC definitely knew he was going to miss weight so they had him start beef with Holland, knowing Khamzat could make the 180 catchweight but not 171. The card also wasn't selling well so infusing a little drama didn't hurt
@gigachadrick7723
@gigachadrick7723 2 жыл бұрын
@@benlewis5312 I believe Khamzat said that the reason he missed weight was because he thought the PPV date was later than he anticipated and had already bulked up a few of pounds of muscle, and because muscle is harder to cut than fat, and water. It made his weight cut harder and more dangerous which is why the doctor told him to stop. He's made 170 on short notice before so I don't think that's an issue.

At first I thought Holland was defending the takedowns very well and thought Khamzat was going to let him off, reset and then go for the takedown again (like most others would do) but Khamzat stuck to him like glue! Even with all the rolling and flying around, he had his hands firm around Holland. Holland gave everything but Khamzat really is a BEAST!!!

It's more of a hanging on for dear life thing how I see it. He KNOWS he has limited energy and mediocre hands so he HAS to make it happen otherwise if someone slips out and his energy is wasted and they're able to keep him in his feet he's in trouble. Just like Khabib and Askren he's a great WRESTLER but well rounded MIXED martial arts fighter he isn't.

@@joelm6631 first and only time he's not made weight. It happens. Even on this card you had fighters not make weight. The level of hate he is getting is from him not acting miserable and sad about it. And why should he when everything worked out and the fans got the best outcome possible? If he didn't get to fight and ruined the card I'm sure we would have seen a different khamzat because then he would genuinely have been sad and took something away from the fans and screw himself as well. He came to the weigh ins knowing everything was sorted, everyone getting what they want. I would rather he just express his genuine emotion than act up for the cameras. Thats what i disliked about jon Jones, everything was about PR and it was just fake and insufferable

When UFC realized the possibility of the Nate crew going crazy when Nate would get destroyed they realized he wasn’t safe!! And all these simple minded people talking crap about Khamzat should be talking crap to the UFC for allowing the Dias brothers to continue the ignorance of the gangster crap for so long and allowing them to bring 50 goons to every fight as a intimidation factor for every fighter that they went up against!! This is not reality tv this is the fight game with professionals not thugs!! I believe Khamzat said that the reason he missed weight was because he thought the PPV date was later than he anticipated and had already bulked up a few of pounds of muscle, and because muscle is harder to cut than fat, and water. It made his weight cut harder and more dangerous which is why the doctor told him to stop. He's made 170 on short notice before so I don't think that's an issue.

As real as it gets? That's why he got the opponents switched before missing weight? Lol he was avoiding the guy who's prepared for his style of fighting, to get a guy who's not prepared AT ALL for it so he could get a highlight. Then he can come say shit like "Holland is better than nate" to try make it look like he took a tougher fight when stylistically he didn't. He wouldn't have subbed nate like that at 170, and trying to would've drained his energy and we already know his stamina sucks which is why he didn't take any chances with Holland and went for an easy win without even trying to strike lol.
