1 mile = 1760 yards 2 miles = 2*1760 yards = 3520 yards 1 lap = 300 yards 2 miles in laps = 3520 / 300 = 11.73 11.73 laps are equivalent to a 2 miles workout * The 'complete laps' phrase in the question is a bit confusing Given that he hadn't completed 12 whole laps but only 11.73 laps, you could say that the answer is 11 whole laps + 0.73 of the 12th lap.

Definetly a convoluted explanation. Mr Khan is usually clear, but here he was quite unclear.

I do believe your answer is wrong. If he needs to run 11 COMPLETE laps and then another 220 feet, then he would only have to run 11 COMPLETE laps. So the answer is 11. In other words if he runs 11 laps and 220 yards , then stops, then in the end he only ever ran 11 COMPLETE laps before finishing the 2 mile distance. The wording states how many completed laps, not IF he completes every lap. The word equation states at least 2 miles, then asks for how many complete laps. This specifically verifies he has to run up to 2 miles regardless but also verifies he only is required to run at least the 2 mile distance before all requests of the equation are fulfilled. If he runs at least the two mile distance, then he only completed 11 laps with a remainder.

Although you might be correct if we really try to be nitpicky about the exact wording of the problem, I think it's pretty obvious that in this question, it is pretty reasonable to assume that "Complete laps" means that you should have no remainder - Jamir can either run 11 laps or 12 laps. No need to over analyze such questions, I think it might confuse others unnecessarily.

Your answer is wrong, it's 11 full laps, to make it 12 you need to add additional values, to make it 11 it simply means he continued passed 11 laps but never completed a full 12, you could you miss this Sal, it's simple logic...
