I think, the correct answer to the first question should be that the force is directed into the screen. The idea of Force is directed Northwards doesn't admit the fact that the is perpendicular to B

Please answer my confusion ..when the beam is deflected towards south doesn't it mean the force is applied towards north ?? Deflected means it diverts towards south soo ..when the force might b applied in north then only it will get deflected in south

because it is not used for force maxwell right hand thumb rule is a different thing it gives you if magnetic field in south then direction of current is clockwise and in north it is anticlockwise USE SCAN WORD S FOR SOUTH , C FOR CLOCKWISE , A FOR ANTICLOCKWISE , N FOR NORTH ,

An electron beam is moving vertically upwards. If it passes through a magnetic field which is directed from South to North in a horizontal plan, then in which direction the beam will deflect? can anyone answer this questions as my exams are near so i want to know its answer

@@Kiran-yj8tx Flemming made it. It is not that the concept follows the rule. It is like a trick to remmeber. You can do that in your head too but flemming made a tru\ick to use with hands to make it easy
