The joy of science stems from understanding from basics bottom-up. Solid state physics will remain a chimera till you humbly bend down and truly understand these rudimentary concepts. You are likely to be using these concepts and even might have taught them to students but whether you precisely and clearly understood them is a different ball game. Consider a square unit cell which has only one lattice point at it's centre. Is it a primitive unit cell or non-primitive unit cell?

A primitive unit cell consists of 4 cells at corners thus the one you are referring dont belong to a primitive cell as it has only lattice point body centered and when we consider any unit cell at least they have 4 corner atoms at it besides body centered, face centered or end centered which may further come in other bravais lattice but are called non primitive unit cell!
