1.45g P4 * 1mol P4 / 124g P4 Does this type calculation has a standard formula??

Is it correct to simplify this: P4 + 6Cl2 ----> 4PCl3 to this: P4 + 3Cl2 ----> 2PCl3 ?

You have to do the same thing to every variable. You’d have to divide P4 by 2 ad well.

No because you're leaving P without changing anything so the equation isnt balanced

plus, if you were to do that it would be 0.5P4 + 3Cl2 ---> 2PCl3
