I suffer from Atherosclerosis and have suffered one coronary heart attack already as a result. I actually attended a "class" during recover and visit my heart doctor annually for the past 5 years. Nobody has ever explained to me what Atherosclerosis is as clearly and concisely as this video you made. For the first time in 5 years I FINALLY understand exactly what is going on! Well words are dynamic. Sometimes their use is subjective to the geographic location. The word blood clot is not a bad word in the Jamaica. What we had was a surprise with how he actually pronounced the word. As used as an expletive, it does not mean blood clot. Actually it would sound more like blood cloth...which in English really has no meaning. So "blood cloth" is said as "blood claat" in Jamaican creole aka patois. When the presenter said it, it sounded just like Jamaican creole. For some reason or the other it has a negative connotation and is most times used to offend others. Offensively it can be used as a noun or adjective just like the F word. There are some sects in the society that use it in their normal vernacular in an informal way. It is never considered for formal use.

This video is fantastic, thank you! It really helped give me a clear picture of what atherosclerosis actually is, and all the steps. Sometimes books and words are just a bit overwhelming. Do you know of any novel ideas for drug targets in atherosclerosis? Maybe to stop the accumulation of foam cells, or to stop the macrophages sending signals for more to come? As most treatments target lowering LDLs, I'm not sure of a new idea!
