At seems to me that every video I watch has different levels of detail on the same concept and the ones that express the most detail such as mentioning WHY certain things happen as opposed to "lipid just oxidises" and "A blood clot then forms" are the best ones. and I cannot learn and understand concepts that superficially. I have to know the details and this video does a good job of going past the details given in my specific lecture giving me a more understanding which means better chances of remembering! I am set with this. Thank you!

This video helped me find the answer that I have been looking for the whole time. I even tried to look up but I could barely understand. For example, where do oxidized LDLs come from? Why there are macrophages in the tunca intima? I am so so grateful!!!!!
@ucchi98294 жыл бұрын
Tiến Nhật LDL and other lipoproteins can become oxidized through a number of ways. Reacting with ROS, glycation, binding to proteoglycans, ect. Oxidized LDL in the blood plasma isn’t an issue in this context. It’s only when it’s oxidized in the intima is it a problem. Monocytes will travel through the Endothelial into the intima and become macrophages. OxLDL being trapped in the intima triggers them to come into the intima.
@joseftraunmueller38444 жыл бұрын
Eating too much oxidized polyunsaturated fats, oxidation continues in the body. When ApoB receptors are damaged (by oxidation or glycation), the liver can't identify the LDL any longer, they keep circulating until they crash. To me this is a much more credible description than "too many LDL".

There seems to be so little focus in these similar models on the initial irritation and damage to delicate arterial walls. High BG, HT, etc are mentioned but surely the number of irritating sources are much higher in modern living and interact- so the blood flowing through arteries today is like a sewer from the thousands of industrial chemicals in our foods, air, personal products, and inactive ingredients in pharmaceuticals. It would be helpful if these types of models connected the problem with the upstream causes from our industries. The model is very clear about what happens if we dont turn off the poison coming into our bodies. Thanks

switch to a low carb diet. This way you minimise the amount of glucose in your system which damages endothelial cells. There are many, many other reasons why a low/no carb diet is beneficial for your health. I really do encourage everyone to do some research on this. Its a very interesting rabbit hole to go down.
